Who saw the Bernie Mac Show?

Did anyone get a chance to see the premiere of "The Bernie Mac" Show? I have to say that it was the first time I'd laughed out loud at a sitcom in a very long time; probably since the days of Martin.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I usually have a tendancy to "critique" shows and not really enjoy them for entertainment purposes. I have to say that I'm surprised that FOX allowed him to be "himself" w/out the cuss words. He was straight wild with those kids! I think I laughed the most when he was in the drug store with that sick little boy had to pee and in the second show when the little girl wanted him to play with her.

I thought the show was creative and it broke out of the "traditional couple with three kids mold". I hope FOX gives it a chance; although I don't think white America is ready for him just yet. But, who cares? For years we with put up with the crass antics of "Married W/Children", it's time for a Bernie Mac. Yeah, he talked a lot about "beating the kids down", especially when he said, "I'll beat you until the white meat shows". So, there may be a lot of folks who were offended with the violent references, but what he said was no different the what they do on South Park or The Simpsons.

I liked it because they let him be himself and he was funny as "L".

I thought the show was funny as hell. Bernie just gives it to you raw. That "white meat" line was extreme. :D

I thought the show was funny, it started out slow, but it picked up greatly. I'm surprised FOX let Bernie curse like that with the kids around, but it's common in a lot of Black homes, so America get ready.

NICE

I missed half of the first episode, but I saw everything after that. I thought the show was funny. That little girl is so adorable. "Uncle Bernie, you hurt my feelings."

Mac show was funny as L!!:emlaugh: The birthday party scene was hillarious with the graphics tracing the movements of the germs had me cracking up

I thought it was slow but hilarious. If someone never saw Bernie Mac do a routine then they probably wouldn't get it. His facial expressions say it all. The show will probably pick up on the next episodes. I am glad that the network gave him a chance to bring a different level of comedy.

I blame the WRITER

the show was not that funny! we actually cut off the PS2 to watch it and I was very dissapointed especially with all those lame pop-ups and when he kept talking seeming like he was reaching for a laugh!....after a while me and my boys was like mayne F this lets ride out!!! forget the next episode which I heard was kinda dry anyway!

Bernie you may want to stick to stand-up cuz it doesnt look good right now bruh  :( :o

Not Funny

It was SLOW. And funny scenes were far and few between! He was meant for stand-up. I'd rather watch a rerun of Seinfield anyday. That's just the truth. The show was not as funny as Bernie Mac is himself. And the writers tried, but couldn't link the two.

The show was ok...it was funny, but he's better at stand up. The show needs some better writing. Maybe it'll get better as they go along.

It was funny!

It was funny, just the truth about life in a black family. The format was original, and it will probably pick up in the coming episodes. (All hit shows don't hit the screen running.....don't believe me? Peep some of the early "Fresh Prince" episodes) :)

Personally I'm just glad it's not competing with "My Wife and Kids" (The Damon Wayans show).

I was rollin !!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Man, this is the best big arse doughnut I've ever had in my life !!"

The way he was chasing the kids...everything says that this show needs to be a hit.

I too enjoy Damon Wayan's show. Bernie Mac coming after it would be a great combo !!

Like all shows it has to grow on you. The first episode was a sort of breaking in show to let you see how the format is and how the show will be run. I think it was good of them to show 2 episodes, because the 2nd episode was funny and you knew how the interaction w/ the kids and his wife was going to be. I just loved them following the germs around all the way to the cake when Bernie got it. I also like the markers showing in the background about what he says something and it points them out.

You got to remember that AT&T don't play that......

....that germ scene was CRAZY, I was calling my friends laughing my arse off cause I ALWAYS tell them:

"if you blow on the cake, I ain't eating it!!!" :( :D

and when he told the kids not to touch his T.V., DVD, or VCRah & not even to look at them......
"when you walk by close your eyes"!!:emlaugh:

Man I was Rolling! Ion care what yall say, it was funny. I dont know how original it was, cause it is the same kinda format as Malcolm in the Middle.

I think that The Bernie Mac Show was ok. It didn't have me :emlaugh: but it was better than most of the new comedy shows....
