When a Coach Leaves: Will JSU Share the Same Fate as NC A&T (NO SMACK PLEASE)

THIS IS NOT SMACK SO DON'T HI-JACK THE THREAD

I predicted that when Coach Broadway retired that NC A&T would go back being a team that loses more than it wins....this seems to be happening especially with their move in conferences. JSU has not switched conferences but a coaching change has affected recruitment and player abilities.

What are your thoughs?

I will share mine....I think JSU will always be in the conversation when we discuss the SWAC Championship. Even if they had a garbage season the year prior simply because they are JSU and have a brand especially since Coach Prime has coached there. The brand is similar to GSU in a way because of the history Coach Rob made becoming a storied program. After watching the game against GSU I saw some questionable things. I don't believe this year will be a flop for JSU but I do believe over time they will drop below average post Prime. After about 3 to 4 years I think JSU will be back as a top contender.

Remember these are numbers POST PRIME. Now had Coach Prime not left....JSU would be slicing through the SWAC like a hot knife through cold water. Why? Because JSU would get the best recruits and an influx in finances to increase their overall university budget.

Our thoughts are Prime has been gone since December 2022. It's September 2024.. let it go. We have our coach. Finished his first season 7-4 and will compete for a championship this season.

Folks get a fluke win w 5 turnovers and all of sudden want to start a discussion piece 😆 🤣. Ironically your last discussion piece was in 2021 when you claimed the Coach Prime hire was the WORST hire in college football.

Do the board a favor and STICK WITH YOUR DAY JOB (that's if you have 1).

The issue is I admitted that I was wrong about him being the worst hire. Also I asked for no smack and look what you did. Come on bruh lets try and have an adult conversation without insults. Insults get old after a while and thats why we have the smack board. Moreover the thread is not about Prime but post prime and future of JSU from going from the Celebration Bowl to not. Is coaching going to hurt recruitment, wins, etc....again look NC A&T since Coach Broadway left. to be honest they are not a factor anymore.

If you can't do that then ignore the thread.

Where's the smack?Ironically you were WRONG back then just as you Are Now.

This entire post has no MERIT. We have the most stable football program in the Swac since 2021. Great social media presence, while still upgrading football facilities (something gram desperately need to do). Currently still hold a winning record against Swac opponents, post CP. And continuously brings in the top recruiting class year after year.

Yall won 1 game since the Obama administration and woke up typing foolishness 😆 🤣 😂

Recruitment has not gone down at JSU. The same people that recruited under Prime and brought in all the talent are still at JSU and are still bringing in talent. We are the most talented team in the SWAC. The loss to Gram was off of mistakes made by both coaches and players

Dude please. Recruitment has gone done . I’m a jsu grad but I’m not delusional. Do you honest think big o really had to recruit under prime? Cmon man.

I was literally there working with them. I know what I’m talking about and can only speak facts. He and TC are a big reason a lot of the players we had came in and STAY with what other schools were offering and also reason a lot of new guys came in. We still had/have the #1 recruiting classes under TC while prime has been gone two years. How else would you explain that? I’ll wait..

You can definitely believe what you want tho. You’re entitled to that.

What ? lol okay. Um okay founders let’s do a non smack then. My response, TC had to bring in 60 new guys in 2023, a new coaching staff, and deal with the media circus Prime left us with during his departure.

2023, FAMU was loaded with talent and Willie is a hell of a coach. I was upset about the loss but if FAMU was going to get us, it was last season with a lot of new faces. Outside of that, JSU lost competitive games to Alcorn & Alabama State by a combined 7 points. He beat everyone else with an overhauled roster. So , I think that says more about other schools than JSU honestly. If jsu was going to have a losing season it was last year. I believe TC is building this thing like how Willie did in his 5 years at FAMU. We’ve had consecutive top 5 FCS recruiting classes, and have faces and talent we brought in that we are developing that haven’t even hit the field yet.

Our alumni give back vigorously to ensure coach primes vision for facilities continues. Our AD is competent and one of the best in the game. Our coaching staff is young and a lot of them will probably get jobs at other FCS or FBS schools. It was you all that overreacted when JSU took a step back given all the circumstances that unfolded in 2023. The fans expected TC to win in 2023, but we were patient because TC stabilized a program that could’ve easily slipped back into pre prime JSU.

To my GSU folks, relax. You won a game playing at an unsustainable level on defense. Then laughed when I said it was a fluke. I said Dooley will be the reason y’all will NOT win a Swac championship. It proved itself against PV. There’s a reason he’s been a journey man in the SWAC, and if it’s not about SWAC championships and contending for national championships at the Illustrious Grambling State University, Then Grambling State is not living on its Awesome history I respect. Y’all are trying to reestablish your schools football team back into SWAC dominance. The more years that pass without Grambling sniffing a SWAC championship, means this generation is not seeing how great Grambling is and the elite tier recruits will not come. Y’all are already living off success from 2017. It’s 2024, what are you and what have you done lately ? You played above what y’all are against us. We tip our hat, but I saw the totality. One team showed up, another didn’t. Talent wise, we arguably have the best RB room and lines in the SWAC. A Young WR core that is slowly coming along, and the starting QB who can help us contend for a celebration bowl is on our roster right now. TC saw McCoy perform and pushed him out there when that young man needs to redshirt and develop some more for the rest of the year. That’s it.

FAMU and JSU are on a collusion course again. The East has been Alabama State, JSU, and FAMU fighting for the SWAC East for three seasons, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. A&M and BCU may have a season here and there but the big 3 have brought into football and have strong alumni who care and are contributing to help with recruiting and facilities. Areas that matter nowadays in keeping your football program healthy and relevant.

Y’all have got to let the Prime stuff go. If the fans and coaches survived the smear campaign unleashed on JSU when prime left, then I need y’all to as well. Will we get a Travis Hunter or Shaduer like talent at JSU? Eventually. We have still got 4 stars and high ranking high school recruits … Terrell Jones Jr, Kobe Boykin, Dupree , Ahmad Miller, BJ Washington, and I can go on. These kids are freshman and sophomores and are already giving the SWAC hell. You add transfer guys to fill in some gaps , and you’re talking about a contender year in and year out.

Closing, y’all want JSU to return to irrelevance. But us being good actually helps the SWAC. The eyes are still there at Jackson, the fans are still behind TC, and the fans are traveling to your schools and buying tickets to help your schools revenue. Stop these silly narratives. Grambling congratulations last week. The sky isn’t falling at all at JSU after that loss. One week later and that proved it. That’s why a lot of us including myself were disappointed in TC’s coaching job in the hole. Thee end.

Don't waste your time. Every recruiting ranking that was put out the past two years had JSU number 1 in the Swac in recruiting. This current team is 90% TC and they are still whipping arse and dominating (when we protect the ball).

Looks like you forgot about Sam Washington. IMHO, it was a mistake not sticking with him.

IMHO..
TC has transformed JSU into a talented smash-mouth football program.. While most of our Swac coaches are playing checkers, TC, similar to Willie Sim’s, is playing chess… No disrespect for FAMU,
I’m just giving TC his props.. He understands how to create CONFLICT and INDECISION on the defensive side of the ball by employing shifts and motion.
Over the years Ive come to recognize and appreciate good football and I do believe that TC has all the potential to be Great!!
Have Mercy!!
