What is it about short hair that men don't like?

OK, here's the scenario.

Dtown took her locks out after about 5 weeks of wearing....My S.O. says to me, "Baby, you look better with your own hair." Ok no biggy, but then I say to him, "Baby, I'm thinking about cutting my hair off"....he says, "Why?" I say, "why not?" I think you'd look sexier with longer hair.

OK, I don't have a problem with that and I like it that he thinks I'm sexy wit some hair....but my hair doesn't grow very long anyways, so what's the point? I've heard this on numerous occassions from several men....."Don't cut yo hair"

What's the deal with you guys not liking short hair? What's wrong with the short hair cuts? I personally think they're sexy. I think I look good with my hair short.

Anyway, because I value his opinion and him as a person I'm thinking of leaving my hair be.

What chall thank?
 
I think I am about to call the damned barber, because the same person who *****es about the length of my hair is always the first person *****ing about the cost of getting it done!

I haven't had much hair since the age of 16, and I can't see myself with much more than I have now ... in fact, I really see myself with much LESS ... a man can like it, or he can pucker up!

The length or your hair should not make him love you any less if he does then you need to ...

I don't have a problem with short hair, but........

I would be lying if I said that every now and then the switch would flip when that question comes up in my household. I dunno, I guess it's a senusal thing for a brother to run his fingers through your hair instead of palming the back of your head.


This concludes my "Keeping it Real" comment for the day.
 
My daddy thinks a woman's hair is her "crowning glory" so he thinks we should not cut it...

I've just been obedient since I was at least 12 or 13! LOL
 
Question for you D, Do you tell him how to cut his hair? Not to be petty or anything but if you really want to cut your hair then tel him that you really value his opinion but you want to cut your hair. Sometimes once you get it cut they will like that too.:cool:
 
I don't care how long a woman's hair is, as long as she looks good. Black women are beautiful. And I can appreciate that beauty, regardless of how long her hair is. I would't tell Halle Berry to grow more hair. Or Latoi Jones :D. I wouldn't stop my wife from cutting her hair short. As a matter of fact, I have told many females that I think they look better with a shorter cut. I just don't think long hair is for every woman.

My $.02 on it.

No jelli, I don't tell him what to do with his hair....LOL It wasn't like he was ordering me not to cut my hair, don't get me wrong; he just stated what he likes. I think he will like the short do once he sees it tho.

I'll probably cut it anyways, just wanted to get some feedback from the men as to why yall like long hair soooo much.

I saw this post and just wanted to comment. DTOWN JAG, I feel as if you need to do what YOU want to do. If your man doesn't like short hair, then there is nothing wrong with him expressing that concern. But it is your head and you're the one that's going to have to walk around with whatever doo you decide to go with. If he doesn't like dating women with short hair, then he'll either have to accept it or find him a woman that meets his likes.

Personally, I don't date women with TWA's. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it at all. That's just MY preference. Everyone is entitled to em you know.

It can be down to your butt, or look like stitches from an operation, as long as you look good.

My only problem with long hair is when it obviously is fake. Please make sure we can't tell your hair finished 5th in the Kentucky Derby. :insert pic of horse without a tail here:

Also, some of the hair styles themselves turn me off. Please ladies, lose the Marge Simpson, layer upon layer, ceiling scrapers.

But D-Town, if you want to get your hair did, Gurl, go get cho hair did!

Because some women look like DUDES when their hair is short...POINT BLANK! :D

Also, many brothas feel that hair is the essence of femininity. Aye...some of the butchest females around quite often have a short crop on top.

Oh yeah,and don't listen to *ATL....

That's like brotha leaving his girl because she'd rather him wear Curve cologne instead of Lagerfeld...:rolleyes: :p

The same thing happened with me...

I told my boyfriend that I HAVE TO GET MY HAIR CUT.

He says, "I don't think I'm gonna like it".

What?!

My hair grows funny and I need to grow it correctly, so whether he likes it or not......I'ma get my hurh cut!!!
 
I like dem girls....

I can't have my woman having a tighter fade than mine :) And when she's down on her knees doing whatever she's doing....LOL...I want to run my hands through some hair...not palming her head.

And there you have it. LMAO! I think this is a shoe in for comment of the week!

Man i just perfer women with some hair. I havent even gotten to the point where i can tell if something is a weave so that is a non issue with me. Hair hair hair dammit. They even made a movie about hair.

Now Halle and Toni Braxton can get by with these short cuts, but they arent for 95% of the women. I contend that even they look better with hair.:p
