What happened to Florida politically?

As with most things-folks want to draw the LINE when it comes to US.

We are the deal breaker way too many times.
It's scary how South Carolina is more of a battle ground state than Florida. Also I'm always amazed at how the folks in Illinois understand the importance of unions but states like Michigan and Wisconsin who are union states vote against their own interest sometimes.

What are you saying Volt?

Too many times folks are willing to accept something until we are included in the conversation. Then suddenly there is an issue.

Everybody has an issue when WE say something or want to do something. Facts be danged.

Nobody cared when Affirmative Action mainly helped white women and Asians. They only cared when it was us. So the lawsuits with Ivy League schools. They complained about us yet our enrollment stayed the same. Asian enrollment dropped.

What we saw yesterday was folks willing to lose everything than have Harris in the White House despite the resume.

I can name something that happened that mirrors this in comics.

2006-07 Justice League comic book got a black writer-whose resume included the Justice League cartoon, co-creating Static (Shock) and 20+ years in comics. One of the few black writer to write almost every A lister in comics from Peter Parker to Batman. The book sold. Top 10-20 seller. He got removed from that book.

Why? All what most folks saw was the 4 black folks on the team with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. That he did not add but editorial added. They whined and complained until he was removed.

They got a new white writer and the 4 blacks were removed. The book had some of the worst stories and still sold. Black guy sold better. The white writer was among one of the worst writers at DC. All his books did not sell.

Yet all those fans saw was those 4 black folks. They wanted them gone and would settle for worst stories.

Dr Claude Anderson said back in, I think it was 2012, that when the latinos overook us as the largest minority voting demographic Black people would be finished in this country as far as electoral politics is concerned.

That's what we saw this past election. Whites and latinos have formed a coalition, as we've been told for over a decade that they would, and now they're flexing their political muscles. As well they should, as they'll be the majority in this country soon enough. And whites know how to maintain and wield power as a minority, as they've been doing it globally for well over a century now.

Good. This is what the hood your vote folks wanted. The people who said what have the Democrats done for us wanted. The coons like Tim Scott and the fellow black Republicans wanted. Oh well.

Retired white Republicans moved to Florida and decisively flipped the state. Cuban Americans also played a crucial role in driving this change.
We somewhat have that problem in eastern North Carolina with Republicans in southern Virginia moving into the region along with the state GOP and their gerrymandering.

But didn't we want a pathway to citizenship for the illeg...undocumented immigrants? It would add another 10 million votes to join the Republicans.

Well I guess in some regard we voted against ourselves with either candidate.

A problem for those crossing the border is those Latinos whose families have been here for generations. As many Anglos who complain about the border crossings, many multi-generational Latinos do the same.

Latinos’ Views on the Migrant Situation at the U.S.-Mexico Border
U.S. Hispanics are less likely than other Americans to say increasing deportations or a larger wall along the border will help the situation
