UAB Fans Set Attendance Record!

,,,,, they put an estimated little over half of a typical MCC crowd in Legion Field for the USM game! :swink:

The potential ASU/AAMU blasts notwithstanding, this is very encouraging for the UAB program, especially if they can have some success. This may be the beginning of UAB's accent to "third major team in the state" status and the growth of the UAB-TSU rival into the second largest in the state.

That QB is NICE. Thank you city of Atlanta/state of Georgia. They were compairing this cat to Byron Leftwitch. UAB needs a more consistant running game. The defense did their part against USM. The offense choked the game away.

yeah only if they could have every game on Thursday. Folks in Birmingham care about UAB football like folks in Nashville care about Vanderbilt football... Birmingham will always be UA teriirotory no matter if they never ever play a game there in the future.

Yes, this is the general mindset in Birmingham also. UAB must not be discouraged by this kind of thinking though. What needs to happen is UAB needs to WIN and that will put a stop to this prevailing attitude and/or they will establish their own new following in Alabama/Birmingham independent of UA and AU which is what needs to happen anyway. UAB has GOT to win though. They have got to become the "FSU" of the state of Alabama. This is definitely not the case now, so yeah, you are right,,, just a lucky thursday night, on ESPN2 with Jabba the Studdard, all planets and stars aligned fluke. I concede defeat on the basic premise of B'ham perhaps finally transitioning to a "UAB town", but still commend UAB fans for showing up en masse for once.
