The SWAC needs to look into this

Do it to scale to start off. Not try to be Taj Mahal. Avoiding injuries it could work. You get exposure and your health & wellness should be out there getting data.

Akin to an nfl format, I do agree. Would be nice to learn and experience other coaches and players from other institutions and then have a decently competitive "scrimmage."

The logistics to house a team for a few days ($$$$) + willingness so that no ncaa rules are broken would have to be seriously considered. Spring games are intra-scrimmages so why not an inter-scrimmage?

major risk - your "hidden gem" runs, passes, sacks, picks off, etc. against the FBS opponent live he's gone to the portal before you hit the locker room and you only may have seen him for the spring semester
Cannot expect someone to stay when their heart and mind isn't in it. Better to unload the disposable early so that focus on only the interested and gifted will occur.

Half of them's mind ain't in it to begin with - we don't need to expose them too early - fbs teams are canceling games for those reasons and they can pay 🤣

Because it would not stop there. The next argument would be why not have several inter-scrimmage games? And then someone would assert that you can expand and have spring football games instead of inter-scrimmage games. Soon there would be games year-round.

Yep - just like NIL then the portal and then the unlimited transfers and then the JUCO rules -

I think both of you @the band fan and @Lenard are making excellent points. It is almost a Catch-22 situation.
