Texas Southern receives $2 million grant to research health equity

Texas Southern University received a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to study health equity in the Third Ward area.

The money will help fund a new research institute at the university dedicated to urban public health and housing equity, said LaRence Snowden, assistant vice president of research at TSU and chair of the Houston Housing Authority.
