Going to be interesting to see how this turns out. They were once in the SIAC.

Talladega dropped football in 1948 and ended their play in the (SIAC). AAMU entered the conference as their replacement. Skegee and Talladega started their football programs In the early/mid 1890s and were dominant teams in the first half of the 20th century.

The Ole SIAC....rich history

Does TC intend to bring back football?
They built this field a few years ago I kinda figured it wouldn't be long

“The committee reviewed the membership application submitted by Talladega College (NAIA) but did not accept the institution into the membership process.”

All other schools were approved; does this mean Talladega is independent in 23-24? Or still part of an NAIA league? Their volleyball schedule has a hybrid NAIA/D2 feel

Great info!

Talladega College was one of the founding members of the SIAC along with Alabama State [then LIncoln Jr College], Clark College [now CAU], Morehouse, Fisk, Atlanta University [now CAU], Jackson State, Morris Brown and Tuskegee. 1913.

The SIAC was originally the Southeastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Wrong! Alabama State University was known as the Alabama State Normal School for Colored Students 1889-1928.

Yeah I know this as factual because I mistakenly said that ASU was in Normal and was throroughly corrected before I could do so lol

In the ATL on Dec 30, 1913, representatives of Alabama State Normal, Atlanta University, Clark College, Fisk University, Florida A&M, Jackson College, Morehouse College, Morris Brown College, Talladega College and Tuskegee Institute met and organized the Southeastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The name was changed to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 1929.
