Starting qbs in the SWAC





Interesting! Is this a trend? I know we’ve gone through the rat poison the last two seasons. And I believe Jackson State has also experienced this situation with Morgan injuries.

No only the Valley QB actually got injured on a sack from what I've seen. Some were non-contact injuries (Morgan) while others occured on good secondary coverage (the QB scrambling for a TD (Andrew Body) and or first down (Teasett).

It definitely seemed to be on the dirty side

Brown's been getting sacked a lot as well as getting the usual hits for being a mobile QB but the hit that took him out was definitely out of the ordinary with no flag thrown

But at least this forces Valley to take recruiting multiple QBs seriously and get QB depth

We lucked up and got Brown from D2 because his brother is a freshman on the team (plus another former 4 star from Stanford on the roster is from their hometown in GA as well). Even if he returns to Valley in 2026, we still need 2 QBs
 
As far as the rest of the teams in the SWAC outside of Valley, QB depth definitely has been tested

Most seem to have done respectable to well with backups and building depth for the future (JSU, ASU, Grambling)

I prayed Brown could make through the season and really get a chance to play behind a much better line in 2026. Once he went down, I knew we were toast

He stated today he hit his hand on someone's helmet!!!
 



It didn't just hit us in football. The women preseason player of the year on our team was hurt and missed the Ole Miss game and is out for the UAB game tonight.

She isn’t “hurt”… concussion protocol …. She hit her head hard on the floor in an earlier game. She will be good to go soon.

We needed her against Ole Miss, UAB and tonight against Alabama. Her ability to hit 3's would have stretched those defenses.
