Today once again, in the tradition of many whom have interacted with this HBCUSports family over the years, I speak life as the start of another athletic season begins.

May the athletes that represent our schools remain safe and protected, even if and when injuries occur, may healing and recovery take place through the guidance of medical advisors...

May there be traveling grace and mercies for all of us that are attending each event...

May there be protection for all of us from any harm or danger from ill minded individuals and any other circumstance at all facilities...

May all of us in attendance continue to enjoy the spirit of competition yet maintain mutual respect where irons are sharpened and we are simply inspired to do better with our gifts and talents...

May all of our institutions continue to break financial barriers that include our own school attendance records with higher levels of ticket receipts, donations, televised viewerships, and other monetary sources that will continue to go a long way with helping our institution continue to exist and serve it's purpose which is to provide educational opportunities and career readiness...

May our most deserving and gifted athletes be recognized and presented with the opportunities of going to the next level...

May the positive narratives of the outstanding things taking place at at each institution standout in all media...

More than anything, if there is someone, be it a man, woman, or child that is in attendance and their spirit is down due to an unfortunate circumstance or situation brought about due to life's challenges, may they somehow learn of, discover, or have the opportunity to know the power of grace and mercy and experience their own form of resurrection that is exemplified through the narrative of Jesus Christ.

Scriptural Inspirations:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Ephesians 4:3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
