Should most of the traditional 1aa schools have the same classification in basketball as football since most are not really competitive with much success on this level.Fans would probably be more likely to support a team that has a legitimate shot at a national title as opposed to seeing it's respective school serving as a first round tune up for the big boys.It was good to see HIU beat ISU but we all know that this does not happen very often.Outside of the A-10 how many traditional 1aa conferences are competitive against real D1 teams?

There will never be parity in the D1 basketball, too many teams. Last count there are over 320 teams. Many schools just have false hopes.
If each team could only have 5 scholarships, it will stop the big boys from building dynasties. Until then, it was probably serve all better if D1 basketball was split into 3 or 4 tiers.

No, if that happens you will only see the big schools get bigger.
I think the NCAA should reduce the total number of basketball scholarships by one for the next three years and start giving 4 year scholarships. The student would only lose there scholarship if there grades dropped to low or a student review board found cause for them to be removed from scholarship.
