There are so many people (across the country) that want to be a part of this game this year! I'm glad that the game itself has so much meaning to it - wouldn't want to be anywhere else on the planet on Saturday at 1pm!

DA TRUFE!!!!

If Bama State beats Tuskegee (LOL), and Southern beats Grambling, Legion Field will be rocking on December 13th.

We win by 50 and move down smh

I dont see what Bama St has done to be 5 spots ahead of AAMU. Yes they are SWAC champs but we have basically lost to the same teams (with Alcorn exception) I just KNOW there arent 9 HBCU teams better than AAMU... Just look at 4 shutouts and margin of victory in wins.

Dahill,

I have to disagree. A&M finished in third place in it's division. That
automatically puts you behind Bama State and Alcorn. All other teams have better overall records.

What does third in the division have to do with overall rankings??? All teams had same number of loses, just so happenned that ours counted in the standings and both ASU's didnt, so that shouldnt have anything to do with a national ranking.

S C State is the same team that got drilled by Tenn State and I personally dont think that no HBCU d2 team could beat AAMU.

It just doesnt add up to me...

ASU loses to Grambling, Southern, AAMU
AAMU loses to SU, GSU, Alcorn

I dont see how that puts them 4 spots ahead of us. We can even take it farther...
ASU played GSU closer than AAMU did...... SU scoring margin was similiar...

AAMU drilled Texas SO 63-0 Bama St won by 2 or 3 touchdowns
AAMU drilled UAPB 50-0 ..... Bama St barely beat them....
And FINALLY...we beat Bama St..

dont get me wrong I aint hating on Bama St or their ranking... but all I am saying is that if they are 5 then AAMU should be at least 4 or 6.

You shole is right Dahill!

Dude why does it matter AAMU isn't in the running for the title anyway, so what's the fuss about?

Dahill,

The thing that separates Bama State and A&M on a NATIONAL LEVEL is our out-of-conference schedule.

While A&M was LOSING AT HOME to Jacksonville, Bama State was STOMPING FAMU in Detroit before a crowd of 55,000 people and on national television.

Bama State left Detroit and traveled to Mobile where we played THE NUMBER ONE TEAM IN BLACK COLLEGE FOOTBALL, Bethune Cookman (who everyone knows Bama State actually beat). On that same day A&M was playing an average Tennessee State team at home.

Also Bama State gets more respect due to the way we played Grambling, who was #1 at the time we played them.

Finally, who cares how many points you beat Pine Bluff or Texas Southern by?

If you want NATIONAL RESPECT, then play a NATIONAL SCHEDULE.

That's what Bama State did.

How early in the season was the loss? Since that time, they have had some impressive wins. Like the recent win over A&T (a DIAA playoff team that was on a hot streak before their loss)...as for the DII teams, I don't know about the reasoning. Could be the overall record and how impressive they were in those wins. I don't know if any of them would beat A&M, but I can't say with certainty that A&M would beat them. How many teams (of your 8 wins) had winning records?

1. Grambling State Tigers (24) 9-2 287 1
2. Southern Jaguars (6) 10-1 266 3
3. Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 9-2 229 4
4. North Carolina A&T Aggies 10-2 175 2

9. South Carolina State Bulldogs 8-4 42 10
10. Alabama A&M Bulldogs 8-4 31 9

DaHill,

You can't compare games because different things can create different outcomes. The bottom line is that when AAMU played a decent team they got beat and most of the time badly. AAMU wants to beat it's chest becasue it beat teams with losing records. That does not cut it.

YOU shouldn't have had ANYTHING to say regarding this poll!

:smh:

I agree with Dahill. That poll is a farce!

If you can use that "logic" then certainly we can use the same, as it relates to Jacksonville St. and Tenn. State. Jacksonville is the OVC Champs (in their first year,) and currently ranked #20 in the 1-AA poll. Tenn. State has been ranked during the season. And let's be realistic...FAMU 2003 is NOT the same FAMU of previous seasons. Besides, they are barely above .500 right now. Like Dahill said, other than them and BCC, we have played practically the same schedule.

What's good for one, is good for the other.

this is BULL****..... I guess you suppose that FAMU is a better team than Jacksonville State???? Jacksonville State University-OVC champions..... FAMU middle of the pack in the MEAC.

bottom line, A&M just lost to Alcorn a couple of weeks ago.

What does that have to do with anything? A five-point loss to a team that had beaten SU just prior to that, shouldn't drop someone from 5th, all the way down to 10th. And as Dahill said, our margin of victory over APB (whom ASU barely beat) should have meant something. But why is any of this even an issue? These Sheridan polls are usually put together with no reasoning to begin with, so why should now be any different?

:(

Tell me you didn't call UBC National TV.

Teams that AAMU would lose to:

You only stayed in the ASU game by kicking 20 field goals and clicking your heels three times.

1. Grambling State Tigers (24) 9-2 287 1
2. Southern Jaguars (6) 10-1 266 3
