Wilf in process of taking over as general partner

MINNEAPOLIS -- With the sale of the Minnesota Vikings still pending but nearing probable completion, there are strong indications Arizona businessman Reggie Fowler is relinquishing his role as lead investor in his group.

Zygmunt Wilf, a New Jersey real estate developer initially identified as one of Fowler's four limited partners, is apparently in the process of taking over as general partner to ensure the deal goes through.

NFL owners are expected to vote on that group's purchase of the team from Red McCombs at the league's spring meetings on May 24 and 25 in Washington, D.C.

Yeah that is pretty much been the word around here in Minneapolis. This will allow the sale to go through and that will give Fowler time to maybe get the cash he needs to become the general partner somewhere in the future. This was just to get the sale done. Wilf seems to be more interested in gobbling up real estate and getting involved in other ventures here in Minnesota. Fowler will probably get a chance next year or so to become the general managing partner once he's collected some NFL revenue as the minority partner. Wilf will probably sell it to him at some point. Glen Taylor of the Timberwolves aint out the picture yet. The NFL is a little nervous about the Wilf guy even though he has the money. He hadn't shown interest in really being a NFL owner as far as being the majority owner. Word here is that Taylor would be the NFL's choice if that can't get Fowler to eventually become the majority owner.
