Question for the Ladies

I always hear this talk about how you all want this perfect man with all this money and etc... I hear alot of women saying that their man has to make more than she does. But I'm gonna bring it down to reality in this question. Let's say that professional men with high salaries are really scarce and you just don't have that much of a choice from that bracket of men. With this in mind, answer the following question.

Which guy would you allow yourself to fall for and spend the REST of your life with if he treated you like none other? And why?

A. Cashier at Walmart
B. Sales Associate at Radio Shack
C. Manager at Burger King
D. Mechanic at Willie's Automobile Repair
E. Dump Truck Driver for the city
F. I just couldn't. I'd be alone.

I have to have an educated brother. That's a requirement. Men and women have to be equally yoked. In relationships you have a enough problems undestanding each other, why complicate things even more. Besides, in some cases the noneducationed people feel inferior to the educated person. I know several instances like that.

I'd want the one with the best heart, the most common sense, and the biggest yoo-hoo.

Education ain't worth a damn if you can't walk, chew gum, and have a coherent thought at the same time.

GSU Spirit... so I guess your choice would be F in this case.

Vinita, if all of them were equal in those aspects you named, which would you choose?

A. the Cashier at Wal-mart.

Every person that approaches his checkout lane has a different attitude, personality and problems in their life. As a cashier, he must have the personality, skills, etc. to deal with each of these individuals and he must adjust to them immediately upon contact. This is the type of person that could be my mate. He can communicate with people from all walks of life, from the governor to a drug dealer.

That's pretty good, JSTUS. I'm impressed with that.

Now, how would you deal with your mother's reaction when she says, "So you love him. Well, what does he do for a living?"

Both of my parents are blue collar workers. So his profession won't matter as long as it's legal.
Besides they love who I love anyway.

Well, truthteller, I haven?t said anything in the Small Talk forum in a long time, but I think this one is a good topic. Here are my thoughts:

I think that the BIGGEST mistake that women (especially Sistas) make is assuming that if a man has one of the jobs listed that he is not an educated man. In today?s market, which hasn?t even bottomed out yet, people are losing their high dollar cushion jobs due to lay offs left and right? I know because I lost mine. However, before I did, I had an Ex that was an Assistant Manager at Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. I made a good amount more than him. However he graduated from the University of Texas, Cum Lade, with a degree in Economics. He was educated and smart as heck and has a very bright future ahead of him, yet to the average Black woman, his job would not have reflected that upon meeting him.

I am saying all of that to say, don?t make any assumptions about a person due to the position they hold without getting to know them. Especially in today?s market. I know a great handful of very educated man that are losing their jobs in corporate America that have to get what they can get at the moment until the market comes out of this recession.

So? to answer your original question: I would take B or C because both of those positions have a chance of upward mobility in the company.

G. The one that God has prepared me for and who He has prepared for me.

Why? Because I can't go wrong if I wait on God. He will not send His children junk!!!

don?t make any assumptions about a person due to the position they hold without getting to know them. Especially in today?s market.

That's a true saying. I know several people in predicaments such as the one you described. But I got your answer....B or C.

G. The one that God has prepared me for and who He has prepared for me.

Yeah, that's very right. But I didn't make that a choice, because that's the one that everyone would have chosen without giving thought to the question I asked. Let's say that one of the aforementioned guys is the one that God has prepared for you, which would you prefer?
