per your recommendation, I downloaded the track.. it is pretty cool so far.... I have never heard of this cat.. I am heading to cdnow for a biography...

Representing San Diego, Calif., is Ton?x, a multi-talented 24-year-old who's been compared to the likes of Prince and D'Angelo. He's shared the stage with such veteran artists as Yolanda Adams and John P. Kee, and has contributed to recordings by such fellow upstarts as 4th Elemynt and Tarralyn Ramsey.
First released by Rescue Records (the same label that launched hard-music act P.O.D.) three years ago, Tommy Boy Records has insured that this landmark recording from the superstar-in-waiting will not languish in cut-out bins.
Pronounced toe-nay is divided into six sections: Hip-Hop/Rap; Retro/Funk; The Future; Jazz; Mellow Grooves; and Soul/Gospel -- but you need only hear the first few tracks to realize that Ton?x (who plays and sings virtually every note) deserves the description "prodigy." Not only does he blur the musical lines between gospel and mainstream R&B/hip-hop, Ton?x, like Kirk Franklin and Tony Rich, also expands the lexicon of contemporary gospel subject matter.
On "Taxi," he sings of the perils of premarital sex, while "Real with U" finds him engaging in brutal self-examination ("When I leave the sanctuary / I want to live true / Lord, I've tried to live an honest life / So why do I try to / Fool God's people all the time?"). Frank lyrical expression and joyous musical abandon make a potent combination on this long-delayed gem.

Yo, that cat has been around awhile. I have the cd. You really need to cop the cd. He is considered a gospel jazz singer. Kinda like "Kim Burrell", but with another unique style. That brother is bad though.
