Lanier plays #10 Catholic tommorrow night in Kentucky. The Bulldogs are in a tournament there with 8 other TOP 25 teams. The key player in the matchup is Brian Smith (son of UK coach Tubby Smith) who plays for Catholic.

If you live in the area of any of these high schools tell us about these teams.

I had no idea Lanier was supposed to be that strong this year. Billups must have a helluva squad.

Yea Bengel E,
Lanier will play St. Raymond (Bronx, N.Y.) on February 8th in Trenton, New Jersey in "The Primetime Shootout".

Lanier is tough this year and Billups just picked up 2 transfers from Callaway. They won't be eligible until January 7. Billups said "They are two of the nations top Juniors". smh@ the potential at Lanier this year.
Go Bulldogs!

and what about lanier.

THEY HAVE NO Senoir on there team. so every one will be back. next year.

also that guy. Jackie Butler form McComb is now at lanier.

"Tack" Minor, an LSU signee, scored 72 points in a game against Houston Jones or some other Houston high school last week. The game did go into overtime but he had 60 at the end of regulation.

Yesterday, in the first round of the Lake Charles American Press he dropped 35 on St. Martinville.

westbury christian is on there due to the fact that they have the nation's second best senior. They have been defeated by several public schools already.

they recruit heavily from the hoods.

Yeah I saw them play Grambling High a couple of years back. Antinio Hudson, who now plays for LSU, lit that cat up for 30 points. He is very skinny but around 6'9 - 6'10. They had the nerve to have him guard Hudson who is 6'4. If he wasn't abused all night... Their team isn't that good. At least not deserving of a top 25 ranking.

Jackie Butler is not a Lanier. I've never heard anything farther from the truth.

Lanier is not at full strenght yet, so do expect much in KY.

They have 3 players (6'8, 6'7 and 6'5) who can't play until Jan 7. Two of these guys are regarded nationally. All of them are underclassmen. Even without them, though, Lanier could run the table in MS. But when they get everyone, the could easily be top 10 nationally. Boy, next year's gonna be ugly.

Monta Ellis is definately the truth. He's rated top 3-5 in his class in every publication. I saw him several times as a freshman and I don't ever need to see him play again. He's better than Maurice Williams at the same stage. He got Metro Player of the year as a freshman, which is unprecedented and has 4 games of 40 or more points already this season. Look for his point production to drop when those other guys become available...

Bobby Clark
Charles Thomas
Charles Rhodes

BTW -----> You can catch his highschool game on ESPN2 this Thursday night @ 6:30 CST. He's taking on Oak Hill Academy, a perenial power out of VA.

Labraun James will be the NEXT MAJOR SUPERSTAR in the NBA.... he wanted to go pro after his 11th grade year but they wouldnt let him.. He already has his own Adidas shoe. He will more than likely be the number 1 drafted player next year.
