I am standing with the Muslims on this. I think their points and ask are legitimate. Long story short, the school district introduced a new curriculum that discusses gender identity and ideology and originally promised parents they would be notified of such topics and have the option to opt their children out. The council then reversed course and said they would not notify parents and they could not opt their kids out. This Asian Councilmember (with a white husband) then told the muslim students that they were aligning with white supremacists.
I really hope they take the county to court on this as I feel they can win. This has become another concern of mine with progressives. There is this movement to undercut parents on multiple fronts. DC voted to allow 14 year olds to get vaccinated without parental consent.
