NORFOLK, Va. — Rolanda Monroe used to play this game on a dirt court behind her house in Arcadia. Maybe all of 7 years old, the only girl among her cousins and their friends in a game of 21, everybody for themselves. Her mom would fuss because her T-shirt got filthy. This is the game she loves, basketball. Tonight, in the first round of the NCAA tournament, may bring another mile marker in that love affair, perhaps the last game Southern University’s all-time leading scorer will get in a Jaguars uniform.
