Tailgating prices at Magic City Classic go up

The Birmingham Park and Recreation Board voted to raise prices for the annual showdown between Alabama A&M and Alabama State.

Cost for renting a tailgate spot for four days is $400, up from $140 last year. One day spot on day of the game rises from $20 to $50. Going up on prices to raise more revenue for the increased payments to the schools.

I thought last year price was too low. People pay a lot more at other venues. I want to see if the
new cost has any significant effect on the number of rental spots sold.

Need to price to the market. Tailgaters, especially ones that don't buy game tickets, should not expect a cheap spot just to eat and socialize.
