FLOWOOD, Miss. | The Alabama State women's golf team will return to the NCAA Tourney after earning the Southwestern Athletic Conference title on Wednesday, April 17 at The Refuge Course.
The Hornets shot a final-round 313 to overtake second-day leader Bethune Cookman to win their ninth title in program history and the second in the last four years.
Sophomore Thayika Kittiyanaruewat shot 5-over par 77 in the final round on Wednesday and finished second overall in the tournament at 9-over.
Teresa Diez Dorta finished in a tie for fifth place shooting a final round 78 for a three-day total of 235, 19-over par.
Sophomore Carmen Fletcher also had a top 10 finish with a final day 8-over par 80, good for seventh place.
The title was the second for third-year Head Coach Quincy Heard.
