Pison and I are putting together a Juneteenth/Father's Day Cookout for Sunday, 17 June, 2001 at a site to be determined somewhere in the MetroPlex.
Our reasons for this are many:
This lil cookout will be jus that: LIL
All we want to do is have the Dallas area posters get together on a special summer day. Of course, non-Dallas posters are welcome too if they are in town that weekend.
So, if you're interested, please let us know: we're putting this simple event together now.
*WE DONT WANT IT TO BE COMPLICATED - WE WANT IT TO BE FUN
Our reasons for this are many:
- many of the posters in the area have adorable lil chil'rens
- all of the posters that have chil'rens in the area want their chil'rens to attend an HBCU
- they want to expose their adorable lil chil'rens to the rare and beautiful fellowship found among fellow HBCUers
- celebrate the importance of Black Men in the lives of their families on Fathers' Day
- celebrate the continuing quest for freedom on Juneteenth
- and just have a funky good time!!! :biggrin:
