AS I LEFT THE STUDIO LAST NIGHT WITH SOME FRIENDS OF MINE ASSOCIATED WITH "CASH MONEY RECORDS" I WAS JUST SHOOTING THE BREEZE WITH JUVENILE AND SOME FRIENDS WE STARTED TO TALK ABOUT HIS PERFORMANCE WITH GSU'S BAND THIS WEEKEND. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S TRUE OR NOT BUT HE MADE THE STATEMENT THAT HE WAS GETTING PAID 10,000 DOLLARS FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AT THE BOTB, AND HALFTIME. IF THIS IS TRUE, DAMN I WANT TO BE A RAPPER.

I remember when I was in the SGA we payed Lil Kim 20k to perform and her performance was cut short by the powers that be due to her nasty language... The real money in music is the shows.... juve would have to sell to sell 10-20k records to make 10k like he did for his brief performance....
 



WHAT!!!!!! :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: You mean you actually pay these people to perform with these bands??? I'm glad we didn't do that junk in my day! Why on earth would the SGA or anybody else pay Lil' Kim or anybody else for that matter for performing with the band? "L" ya'll should be asking their arses for 20K to donate to the school!

About the most we ever do is if they happen to be in town, we march them across the field ....

Brian Mcknight, comes to mind one homecoming.... all them alumnae J-settes... have mercy!!!!

A tremendous waste of money. You get no longterm benefit, but the entertainer gets national exposure. I don't like using entertainers anyway. But if an alumnus, say Eryka Badu, decides to do a song with the band (free of charge) then cool. Especially if a nice statement promoting both schools and what they mean to society is given by the entertainment prior to doing a tribute song.

I know juvey is New Orleans and immensely popular, but his presence doesn't/didn't do anything to boost ticket sales. If the SGA wants to help the band, donate $10k to the bands scholarship fund or something!
