How Much?





No Tara,

BG is saying that you should have 8 glasses of water per day equaling 12 to 16 oz/glass.

8 x 16oz. = 128oz.

So that 33.8 liter doesn't come close.

but frankly, I believe that like anything else, it varies from person-to-person. You have to kinda watch what you expel (be it perspiration or da whizz). You definitely can't go on thirst. 9 out of 10 times, you are reacting a little late. I can drink about 8 oz. in the a.m., run a 10K in moderate-to-cool weather and drink another 16-20 oz. and be good to go! You just have to pay close attention to your activities...watch out for da alcohol...you'll be de-hydrated quickly!

I was always taught

that 8 glasses of water ...

8 x 8oz = 64

so two liters will give you plenty...

this is only average

if you are exercising and whatnot, you need more...

to be on point.... Yes it's 8 8 oz glasses equaling 64 oz (1/2 gallon) per day. Tara I haven't seen you, well only in my dreams :D so I don't know your exact size. This is just for an average height and weight person. So if you are within your average height and weight you should be okay. Just drink 2 of those liters per day and you'll be just fine. Ahh excuse me just finer......;)

I went to http://www.water.com and calculated how much water I should be drinking. According to my weight and how much exercise I do, I should be drinking 55oz./day.

21.2 more oz. to go! :D :(

Putting lemon or orange slices in your water will make it more bearable. That's the only way I can drink water!

That's the only way for me too. Try lime slices too. YUMMY! And try this, freeze the lemon, lime and/or orange slices and then drop them in the water, it makes a nice cool treat.

Remember lemons act as a natural diurectic so you have to be careful about TOO MUCH juice. Your electrolytes will get messed up, potassium will be depleted. Counter this will eating a banana, which is rich in potassium, every other day or so, if you are drinking LOTS of water with LOTS of lemon juice and SWEATIN' a LOT.:D

Also try adding a cup of sugar and stir well. It goes down so smooth. :p
 
Those sound like great ideas!!!

I may hold off before I try them though. The water by itself is enough of a diurectic. I feel like someone is sitting on my bladder.

When I started trying to get my two quarts a day on, I wish I had a urinal next to my cube to make it easier with all of the trips I had to make.

After a while, when the body adjusts it gets easier.

That reminds me, I need to get my drink on.
 
Of course.......I have a Ph.D, even though it's in Pimpology......

Yeah, it just takes a little time, that's all.

How much time, I don't know.

Yeah it will, it just takes a couple of days. Your body has to reach what's called a breakthrough (or at least that's what they called it in the article I read) to get your system used to the water. You may even retain some at first, :eek: if you haven't been drinking for a while. But your trips to the powder room will go down afterwhile.
