High School Football Cover-Up



I learned that a bunch of schools -- not just football coaches -- are discouraging students, teachers and staff members from reporting COVID-19 infections simply because of a desire to keep schools open and maintain normalcy.
 
I was listening to sports talk radio back when some football players first started reporting and one of em said when he complained to his coach about social distancing etc, the coach got upset and said something to the effect of if the players didn’t participate in this “experiment” then there would be consequences later. I just thought “experiment” was an odd word to use (though quite telling to me). It’s not the kinda word you’d come up with yourself in a situation like that, but that’s the language that comes from much, much higher up. Beyond school presidents and officials.
