Five Good Reasons to File for SSN at 62

Given the shorter life expectancy of black men, filing early is something to consider:

This is why black men need to get regular health check-ups and change their diets (especially with regards to processed foods and sugar). Many processed foods havecancer cancer causing chemicals, hydrogenated oils, excess salt and sugar.

Also, try intermittent fasting; it especially those of you who are pre-diabetic and/or have belly fat.

Many processed foods cancer cancer causing chemicals, hydrogenated oils, excess salt and sugar. For men, red meat contributes to prostate cancer. This due to the excessive iron in red meat from hemoglobin. Men don't lose blood like women, so they don't need as much. Unlean meat is high in saturated fat.

There’s no moral victory or delayed gratification process at work here. Simply put, Social Security actuaries know that enough people die between ages 62 and 70 thus providing motive for the program to incentivize the delaying of benefits. The delayed benefit's real purpose and design is to give fewer people money for a shorter amount of time. It’s all about the predictability of death rates.

As a pure mathematical matter, if you delay benefits until you’re 70 to maximize your monthly Social Security check, you would need to live to your early 80s to collect as much Social Security money as you ended up forgoing by not collecting at 62. Since living into your 80s is not guaranteed, it’s perfectly rational for each individual to start benefits in your mid- or even early 60s.

Because none of us knows the ultimate day of our death, the perfect month between ages 62 and 70 to begin Social Security benefits is unknowable.
