For the first time ever, a SWAC institution is rated the #1 HBCU in the nation by Niche which is a popular ranking site. FAMU beat out other highly prestigious HBCUs such as Spelman, Howard, Morehouse, and Xavier University of Louisiana for the coveted title. Congrats to FAMU and this ranking is unique b/c it looks at more than academic metrics to determine quality ... it looks at campus life, food, safety, athletics, etc.
