Donald Carrie signs with Lobos
The Laredo Lobos signed their field general on Thursday in Donald Carrie, as well as adding a couple of local players to shore up the roster for the Intense Football League season. With training camp set to begin in the first week of April, the Lobos are busy selecting the final pieces in preparation for the season opener on April 22 against the CenTex Barracudas in Belton. "It's an honor and a privilege to be here and be part of a team again," Carrie said at the news conference at Jett Bowl North.
Carrie is a graduate of Alcorn State University, where he walked on and became a four-year starter. In his final year at Alcorn Carrie threw for 2,538 yards on 173-of-331 passes for 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. In his four years at Alcorn he passed for 10,248 yards, completing 696-of-1,368 attempts for 82 touchdowns and 61 interceptions.
He finished his collegiate career as the school's second-most prolific passer, behind NFL veteran Steve McNair of the Tennessee Titans.
