Do people really understand why MAGA wants to cut the federal workforce?


Public employees as a whole make up about 13% of the U.S. workforce. Of the 23 million civilian government workers, just over 10% or 2.4 million work in the federal government, according to the latest employment data from the Labor Department. Those figures exclude postal service workers, whose jobs aren’t funded by taxpayers because the service is self-funded.

The other 19 million government workers are in state and local jobs. Local governments employ the most people—around 15 million as of October—with nearly half working in education as teachers and related jobs. States are the second biggest government employers, with 5.5 million on their payrolls. As with local government, education workers are nearly half of all state workers.

He writes, "In case you are wondering, I am going bat-**** crazy buying imported toys right now specifically because of the potentially catastrophic impacts of our most recent election. While the proposed 60% tariffs on Chinese-made goods would obviously be crippling in-and-of themselves, what really has me concerned is that I believe that well over half of the workers (and many of the proprietors) of the 500+ small businesses that constitute the Toy District have tenuous (at best) immigration status. If Steven Miller and his brownshirts follow through on his threats and start rounding people up for deportation on day one of the new administration, they could easily collapse the entirety of this awesome little entrepreneurial economy. The destruction will probably not happen all at once, but I was already seeing a substantial diminishment in customer foot traffic in the Toy District, as many of the immigrant store owners who operate the little bodegas along the Mexican border have apparently already curtailed their spending. The CFPB was created by Congress as part of the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act. The law aimed to strengthen oversight of Wall Street after its risky mortgage lending practices caused the global financial crisis. The CFPB has a broad mandate to protect Americans from deceptive or abusive practices by US financial firms. The agency investigates consumer complaints related to credit cards, loans, bank accounts, and debt collection and enforces consumer protection laws.

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a professor at Harvard Law School, originally proposed the agency in 2007. In 2010, President Barack Obama appointed Warren to head the CFPB's steering committee to help establish it.

I bet that was tough for you to do, as from my experience when you challenge some people or companies on racism you often become a target and people that you thought was your friends or at least neutral all of sudden are trying to set you up to take you down.

I think alot of people don't understand or don't care that alot of the regulations was done because of specific issues that happen. To me someone who tried to hold up the federal government, via the Defense Department, up for money should not be allowed in any administration.

Believe me it was something else. Fortunately I have some co-workers who post on this board who stood up too. Yes it cost us from moving to the top but sometimes in life you gotta take one for the team or it never changes. We all made it to the top when we were suppose to although the white man tried to stop it. We had two older mentors who were HBCU grads (RIP!!). One was a Howard alum and the other a Pinebluff Alum. Before them there were no blacks in management at all and they sued and won. They warned us that black people will benefit from you and will stand off and get the reward so make sure you can handle that before we spoke up. They didn't lie bruh. When you stand up to Massa you will learn how selfish some black people are and they will laugh at you but be the first ones in line to reap the benefits. This is what black Trump supporters are to me. They are selfish people but one thing about it is that every man shall have his day. It might not be them but their kids or grandkids will get it. One thing I learned growing up on the block was "If you do the dirty, the dirty will get you". Trump and his supporters will have their day of dirt. Believe me! One thing you learn is when you speak up against racism in the work place you better make sure all your I's and T's are crossed because they are coming for you. Especially back in the 90's and early 2000's. The sad part is they use the black people to come after you. They plant that one or two black sellouts like Trump supporters who are money hungry to try and hang you. They befriend you and try to find out your angle. They go back and tell your every move. Fortunately for me I never trust people especially a broad that all of a sudden who tries to befriend me. lol Some black people only see hurting other blacks as a win for them and massa. I'm not that dude. I was born a man and will die a man.

CeeDog, You are correct. I saw the same thing while I was in the US AIR FORCE, never trusted the whites and others, but there were black military and civilians that would sell your "ass" out at the drop of a penny.,,, +++++++++++++++++++++

Why are we acting as if any of this is a surprise when them folks been saying what they were gonna do for the last year? Another reason the Democrats should've run a decent platform instead of just handing them the election.

I agree. The problem was that white America and the koons didn't think the Republican Party would do what they said they would. They thought it was all smoke and mirrors
