Sounds like the Alcorn will be good this fall on the defensive side of the ball in the fall.

Defense plays big in Alcorn spring game
By ADAM DAIGLE

LORMAN ? The only interception of the entire spring game for Alcorn? It got credited to a defensive end.

It?s been that kind of spring.

End Joe Keys came up with a screen pass from quarterback Tony Hobson early in Saturday?s intrasquad game on just the fifth play of the game. It may have been a quick reminder that aside from usual spring duties of filling holes at various positions, Alcorn?s defensive front may be pretty good.

It?s just a matter of getting the rest of the defense to follow suit........

Capital City Classic should return to it's old form. I watched the 2001 game in it's entirely two nights ago. So nastalgic. Johnny Thomas literally gave the game away. The Hail Mary at the end of the half by Alcorn was legendary.

TP, I though you didn't like c**n ball.

...and that game was dayum sho c**n ball (Hughes/Asberry vs Johnny Thomas/McKenzie= c**n ball) BUT the crowd, the BOOM, and the pure JSU dominance was nastalgic. Actually Hughes did not come across like an idiot that game. We let Alcorn make stupid mistakes and we capitalized. They tried to hang becasue they could have gone to Bham had they won... BUT by the 4th quarter, we had taken all of the air from under them.
