VIPERS TO HONOR FIELDS SATURDAY NIGHT
HUNTSVILLE, AL ? Former Tennessee Valley Vipers offensive specialist, Kelly Fields, will add his name to one more Viper record this Saturday night when he becomes the first player to have his jersey retired by the team.

?Through three years Kelly Fields gave us many great moments and the memories of those moments will become greater through the years,? Vipers owner Art Clarkson said. ?From the first day of the first training camp, Kelly Fields set the standard of the Tennessee Valley Vipers organization is all about.?

The former Alabama A&M standout currently holds 31 Vipers records including receptions (344), receiving yards (4,174) and receiving touchdowns (95). He also owns every kickoff return (130-2,110-5) and missed field goal return (59-1,018-2) records as well as all-purpose yards (7,302) and total touchdowns (102).

He currently ranks first in af2 history in receptions and receiving yards and is third in receiving touchdowns. He also ranks first in kickoff returns, missed field goal returns and missed field goal return yards and third in kickoff return yards. He is also first in all-purpose yards.

His other records include receptions in a game (14), receptions in a season (143), receiving yards in a game (187), receiving yards in a season (1,638), receiving touchdowns in a game (5) and receiving touchdowns in a season (32). He also owns every Viper record for kickoff returns and missed field goal returns in a game and a season.

The Vipers will host the Florida Firecats this Saturday night at 7:30 at the Von Braun Center. Tickets are still available at the Von Braun Center Box Office or by calling the Vipers front office at (256) 551-3240. Brooke Smith from the ABC reality show, ?The Bachelor? will be doing the coin toss before the game. The Albertville native just finished her senior season at the University of Alabama and finished runner-up on ?The Bachelor? in 2002.
