Colin Kaepernick becomes the face of Nike for 30th anniversary of Just Do It campaign

Is the same Nike that will flood our neighborhoods with overpriced shoes that we dont need? (i.e. Jordans)

I mean, he basically contradicted himself. He want to stand for racial oppression. But, he signed with a company that use third-world labor to build the shoes.
I say let's put our attention and effort into Chicago, New Orleans, and other high risk cities for people of color before we worry about 3rd world countries.

Bringing in this comment is the ole shell game. Keep them guessing what they should be watching. Right agent wiregrass?

Some just can't get their minds off the checker board and into the chess game.

Remember who you heard it from first...

Nike's controversial Kaepernick ad has millennials snapping up the stock
Today, investors on Robinhood are buying Nike stock 300% more than they are selling, compared to 12% last week," Sahill Poddar, the app's data scientist, said Tuesday. "Investors in Oregon, where Nike is headquartered, are buying the stock 850% more than they are selling."

Yes it is. If companies offer discounts to police so what? That doesn’t mean the company supports the brutality committed by only a few.

Tacit approval is a thing. Support of the police state, which support of police absolutely is, is support of the brutality committed by police whether explicitly stated or not. Also, a focus only on brutality obscures the much larger issue with policing in this country, and LOLOLOLOLOL at it only being committed by a few.

Pretty much every large business in America provides discounts to police, fire and military.

You’re missing the whole point. What does that have to do with a discount? Stevie Wonder can see policing is an issue in this country, but one can also argue they put a lot on the line too. So how does Nike giving police a discount (they pretty much give everybody a discount) show support for a police state?

Another reason Nike does not care the butt hurt people of this country.

And these are Asian cos-players looking at these shoes. The shoes are not cheap.

Nike didn't support Kap's message. They stayed as far away from it possible. There was no mention of it in the print ad or in the TV commercial itself. There was nothing about enlightening America about black people or any oppressed state black people face. The corportation used Kap to make money and sell gear. That's it.

The revolution will be monetized.

Store owner to close business after protest of Nike's Colin Kaepernick ad backfired

Nike’s 2018 “Just Do It” campaign, which featured Colin Kaepernick, drew competing reactions from both sides of the political spectrum.

For Colorado’s Prime Time Sports owner Stephen Martin, it meant slashing prices on Nike gear in an effort to take Nike out of his store completely. Now, the store is closing five months later.

According to koaa.com, Martin will close the Colorado Springs sports apparel store after 20 years because he can no longer afford his lease. He blamed his protest of Nike for playing a major part in the store’s closure.

Prime Time was the same store that canceled an autograph signing with Brandon Marshall after the Broncos linebacker protested police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem in 2016.

Martin came to the realization that Kaepernick and Marshall have a lot of supporters who can shop elsewhere.
