Black Panther Party member said Black people didn't die for right to vote

Duh! But i will push back on the wanting to be left alone part. The end result was to be treated as first class citzens: equal rights and protections as U.S. citizens.

We have got to stop thinking its ok to just say anything.

This is the problem with way too many recently born black people. They hear what they want to hear, and fail to realize that what they are reading, hearing and looking at videos about millions of black folks alive today lived it. Brother Wahad clearly says the vote was a means to an end to achieve the self-determination black folks were seeking. The 30 second to 33 seconds mark makes that clear. It is also clear he is not refuting black folks died in pursuit of struggling for rights, including the right to vote. He is simply stating that the narrative that has been used is an over simplification of what happened and why in pursuit of those rights.

Nothing he said is a reason not to vote, but that won't stop the "don't vote crowd" from acting like it is.

That is prevalent in this tik tok and sound bite culture. " To hell with context". The so-called Indians and Aborigines have become masters at it. And you have to address it because the attention span of the youth is extremely short.

We have started to use the same tactics against ourselves as the media and government.

Educators are getting migraines.

Things have been moving forward although the Republican party has shown once again they can't govern or lead. Time after time the dems have saved the country from these fools and yet idiots keep hollering Trump. I've come to realize we Iive amongst many self loathing fools black, white, red, yellow and the list goes on. This started when the Al Gore vs Bush election and is just continuing on. America deserves what it gets just like it got with Trump the first time. Burn baby burn.....
