It looks like there has been a settlement, which will allow a black person to become the mayor of a 80 percent black town in Alabama. The town has been controlled by a majority white city council, only had one black person on the council and that was someone they picked, for over 60 years. To me what this points out is just because their share of the population is decreasing that some white people will continue to try to hold onto power. What I find troubling is that no state or federal officials had done anything about this situation for over 60 years and none of those responsible for not having elections for over 60 years are not going to prison..
