Ah yes... I think its been 26 years now that I've resided in Memphis. I have loved everything about this city, both the good and the bad, especially it's deep and rich music history. The Bar-Kays no doubt represents this city and what it has been all about in everyway.

It's also interesting that a day or two ago, I just happened to be watching this documentary on youtube and thinking I need to add more of their albums to my vinyl collection. Much respect to them! --> View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1NBmggu7OE
 
The Bar-Kays began in the early 60s and continued to produce hits up to the late 80s. They are considered one of the best funk bands, period. I think "Nightcruising" is their best album, and I would put "Flying High On Your Love" in second.
