That Alcorn game was played against North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and not North Carolina State.

I thought I heard someone say the FAMU-JSU game was going to be a sellout? If so, what happened? Did the rain send everyone back to their hotel rooms? I would have expected more fans at the AAMU game vs. SCSU than just 11,500 for the first game of the season for a team that won the SWAC championship in the spring. Where are your fans AAMU SWAC Champs? Why can't TxSU fans show up like this (18,297) for other SWAC opponents? Is the PV game all you care about?

It was reported 12,500. Covid is real. That's where they were at.

It’s called covid !!!!! My dad and I definitely didn’t go ONLY BECAUSE OF COVID !!!! If not for covid it was a no brainer!!!

All JSU Mississippi/Louisiana fans flying out of New Orleans had their flights canceled due to Ida. Most struggled to find another flight at other airports going to Miami that wasn’t full.
And some pulled out in July when covid spiked. I planned my trip with 2 others and they changed their minds once covid jumped. They didn't feel comfortable. I still made it tho!!!! (I know people that were still looking for flights on SATURDAY) The weather made a lot people cancel today as well. Its been raining since I got here on Thursday afternoon. I was prepared for the weather though. I’m glad I went. I’m just glad to see the amount of folk that showed up. I’m sure Famu had fans pull out once covid spiked. Oh yea, they allowed tailgating. Famu locals brought the grills out & had it smoking in the parking lot. Some stayed outside under the tents.

Most of those fans at this game was PV fans and made up most of the attendees....

PV-packed and why I walked my ass right over to the sTu side where I could engage social distancing, until one of the parents of a sTu f'baller had a LOT to say about sTu and McKinney.

Every year at BBVA for the LDC PV always is the one that outdraws TSU according to folks but when its at PV or other home games not named homecoming those "fans" are nowhere to be found. Maybe they only like games in Downtown Houston lol

Did these pictures get taken at the same time? I ask because on the TSU side the middle section has the clubhouse that people gather and watch game on the TV screens and not to mention the suites are all sold-out for each college of the university to host guests. Funny that you didn't show the entire side and endzone where TSU folks were seating in the endzone on the PV side of the goal post. The section you should are the expensive seats....PV brought a crowd that's true and would probably give the edge to PV-55% and TSU-45%. Im a diehard TSU fan and started to skip the game because I'm tired of watching my school lose. So, when we start winning that 22,000 seat stadium would be too small for the LDC classic.

houston area black people are fickle as dog shit. North tx trumps any and all greater houston, supporting wise.

We, the chosen few, can only do our part to keep the programs supported and invested.

To be fair, we've never hosted a LDC on labor day weekend besides the sellout in 2016. That rescheduled hurricane game on Thanksgiving weekend against a terrible Tsu (after our season was over) and the spring covid game were not going to be well attended. Houston Panthers definitely punch below their weight but that seems to be a problem with Houston folks in general.
