I been saying this in our forums. But as I said before our d line is suspect against the pass and our line backers dropping back in coverage is iffy in terms of tight end play. We don’t have the talent to play zone but we do have good individual talent to play man with safety help over the top to bring one more extra pass rusher... we need to get some o line guys healthy ... but even with them in... we were not getting that push off the ball gram, mvsu for a half, and asu all game were mauling our fronts ... if we don’t have the talent we need to motion guys in to double down and block if needed. I keep preaching this... good line play wins you swac titles... great line play wins you ooc and HBCU national titles... Lastly , Thurman got caught slipping this game... guys were out of assignment playing too aggressive too one side... Gray is a patient yet explosive runner... linebackers have to be just as patient... we excuted it in the first half then guys went back to pre Deion habits on execution. I could go on and on but JSU got a bye week and ASU just pissed off JSU... what this game showed me is ASU is not to be ignored... and JSU is resilient and can play from behind.... we have to capitalize and execute in these tight games... film session is going to suck for some but all this was was ASU giving us our official SWAC reality check... now this can go down two ways we either learn, adjust , and finish the season with 1 loss or we’ll maybe win one more game and be satisfied with a winning season to prepare for fall.
