Basically, y'all bought a lemon. Our previous president Dr. Wright brought Ashley back from valley to be a puppet. That's why he had the job this long. Ashley no longer had that protection and saw the writing on the wall. Ashley sold jsu a bill of goods. We have a new president who has standards and isn't going to be putting up with incompetence and complacency from staff. PV athletics has been running on auto pilot since McClelland left so the notion that Ashley brought PV back is laughable considering the AD before him, Fred Washington, was at the helm when PV won back to back commissioner's cups. All Ashley did (besides not securing ANY sponsorships while being in a metro with the 2nd most Fortune 500 companies) is kill championship programs in women's basketball and baseball, set ticket pricing with no logic, restructure contracts with no logic and give press conferences like he's presenting in Speech 101.

Bynum is hands on with all athletic decisions period! It will be a balance of ideas going forth trust me. AD/ASH Will have a great support staff.

I cannot believe they did not know this already. I almost wish you hadn't mentioned FW's name so they could continue their journey attempting to navigate the PVAMU athletic life post Dr McClelland and what HE and his staff laid the foundation for/built. I dare not mention what precipitated Dr. Wright's entree' that really got the ball rolling. :D

Five years, yet the program kept rolling along all by itself? Yeah, right.
And what men's championships in basketball did he destroy?
Again, PV has a better overall athletics program than 70 percent of the SWAC, at least over the last three years, but it was on auto pilot?! The athletic department ran itself?!
The football program went 21-11 but you're giving credit to coach auto pilot....and at a place that's hardly use to any major titles??!! Now that's laughable.
Did your APR penalties and sanctions disappear due to auto pilot?
We'll see if the athletic department at PV will get better or get worse after Robinson's departure. Time will tell us and we'll see if PV returns to it's old status of hanging around the doormat of the conference.

Dude, you just gave credit to PV's attachment to Texas A&M's system as the real cause for it's financial success, but now you're giving credit to folks who were there 6 or seven years ago?
Make up your mind cause you're all over the place.
Those folks may have contributed, but who kept the ball rolling for five years?
Five years is a long time to run on auto pilot.
Just look at what your boy Trump has destroyed over a few months, and one can only guess what he'll do in the next three years.
You can't make one believe that the man did nothing for five years, yet his athletic department was in the top three during that time and very stable on his departure.

Dude still isn't getting it so im pretty much done after this. Fred Washington was AD for 5 years before Ashley came in and also coasted because of the groundwork mcclelland laid. I mean being AD was basically his part time job. PV won the swac championship in football and other championships. Ashley was hired a month AFTER PV won its second commissoners cup; #1 in the swac. But let Jayrob tell it, we should just be happy because Ashley's "leadership" dropped us to 3rd.

Giving Ashley credit for our facilities is insulting not only to McClelland;but to Roy Perry and the Foundation,SGA etc as well

You don’t have a clue how higher education funding works in the state of tx do you? You also do not comprehend how collegiate athls is funded in tx do you? And obviously you do not comprehend system/* accountability either. lol

And you NOT giving Robinson credit for keeping PV's athletic department afloat for five years is insulting.
One would think this is coming from white folks talking THIS negative about another Black man, but it's a shame that it's coming from other Black men.
The guy may not have been the ideal or perfect AD, but with his salary, who stays for five years without getting anything accomplished?
No matter how much you may not like this brother, under HIS watch, PV has made great strides in certain areas as previously noted.
You guys have yet to post actual concrete evidence from valid sources (other than your own) as to why the man has been a "complete" failure. I don't see other PVers saying he was a complete failure other than two PV alumnus.

Any how, now that he's gone, we'll see if the department gets better or takes a turn for the worse.
Yall better hope the latter doesn't come to fruition, cause you KNOW you gone hear from some folks. LOL.

First you wanna give credit to the white folks, then to McCleland, then say that Robinson didn't do jack while he was AD.
We'll see from here on out how successful...or unsuccessful PV athletics will be.
One can only wonder if the department takes a nose dive in a year or two, if yall will try and pin that on Robinson too.

LOL @ the speech part but when he did his intro speech at JSU, i was like "who gives a speech like that? lol" I think he knows he is not a good public speaker so he needs a written speech but he cant read all that great either. BUT I can say. Going forward, ya'll cant say schitt about MY AD! Got it!?
