It's a nice gesture on the part of FSU, but there is a part of me that looks at this and (unfortunately) can't help but to see this as a the big PWI sending it's "hand-me-down" to the HBCU down the street.

FSU is doing for FAMU, what FAMU can't do for itself.

Just like the good ole days, when white public schools would give the black public schools their old outdated raggedy text books. I guess it is better than their old analog display they have now. I'm sure FSU is replacing their scoreboard with a 4k HD or better display. There's nothing like controlling the resources to get the top notch stuff.

Good deal for FAMU.

But I'm reminded of the Dead Presidents scene when Cutty laid down the law.

"Now you're gettin' all that good lovin' and can't even put food on your f---in' table..."

FSU could have just junked it or got rid of it in another way so I guess it's not bad in any way. HBCU's need all the help they can get so I don't look at it like the old days or anything in that way. We all know we need help so I think it's 100 percent great because I'm so use to seeing things get taken away and made harder for HBCU's to succeed and people saying that they are giving us junk and worn out raggedy things shouldn't be the case if it's better than what they have currently. If another HBCU gave them the scoardbard then it would be no thinking two ways about it. It's just my 2 cents but if it helps then it helps. If it holds up fine but if it doesn't then what do they have to loose. It's free so what can you say about that. A&M can't loose on that.

I agree with you and at the same time it is a good thing. Plus, FAMU has to have it installed and programmed so everything is not given to them. It could have been trashed which would have been far worse than donating to another school.

Since it costs FSU over $5,000 it is considered a capital asset for the state of Florida and depending on when it was purchased may still have some value to it as it hasn't been fully depreciated. So now FAMU will add it to their books as a capital asset and off FSU.

I'll just leave it at that.

I wish they would have donated it to JSU, so we could have turned it down just as we did msu baseball equipment when our bus went up in flames !! It's time for us to start doing more on our own as in not accepting shit like that. Trust me you can see that as good will all you want but trust me that was a less fortunate black school move !!!

Personally, I don't like it. But something tells me that this is the kind of thing a lot of MEAC folks will be giddy about.

JSU did not use the equipment because it was the wrong color.

This ad comes from alabama and a&m so he doesn't possess the historical value between the schools as he was not raised in that environment...he probably jumped on it quickly

A lot of schools do donate their surplus equipment elsewhere but it's not story worthy as those schools have stuff they have never wore collecting dust

They where in most of tournament, wrong color or not if they wanted it they would have used it. Let's not forget most of the equipment went up in flames!!! I know my JSU my friend. That's just what they told the media !!
