Jackson state fires Harold Jackson !!!! Bell #2





For those of you that are asking why JSU hired Jackson in the first place, the man was more than qualified for the job. There is nothing wrong with hiring one of your own. Some times shat just doesn't work out and you have to move on.
 
From an HBCU Standpoint, probably better to let Hotseat coaches finish the season before firing them. We can't afford to do like P5. Now he will be owed the rest of his salary unless a fundraiser allows for JSU to buy out his contract.

BTW, HBCUs have no business holding fundraisers just to fire a coach when more important financial activities must require attention.

From what I'm hearing !!! Saturday game against Grambling showed a lot of progress and improvement player wise but not coaching. So the administration still feel we can win the east on top of them wanting to start the national search immediately instead of waiting so someone can start January 1st !!!

Yall can't afford a buyout. Speak for your own school. Jsu administration has been smart enough to have added a buyout clause to contracts that's affordable for the university !!!!

We were 15 years too late in hiring him. He would have been a good hire back then.

But that is the thing though. We saying we need Money from these Money Games but somehow manage to generate money quickly just to fire a coach we may not like. We can't do what P5 does.
 



McCall will be interim I believe, well he should. That's one thing I do like about Meyers, she's no joke and she refuses to have jsu be mediocre in any way. Glad they did it mid season. 2016 will have most of our key athletes back so the next guy won't have to start over.

You do realize that in America a Coaching Network exists right? Coaches do talk amongst themselves about where not to go coach. Just want to inform you.
 
Here is the Million Dollar Question: How do the Players AND....Assistant Coaches feel? Keep in mind no one is more nervous about a Head Coach getting fired than the Assistant Coaches. The New Coach may not want to keep any of the Assistant Coaches. You cannot compare JSU's Situation to Texas' Situation with Charlie Strong.
 
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't he also had some of Comegy's old staff with him? If so, that is like coaching with a hand tied behind your back as the two year coach. Honestly, you have to give a coach three years to get his program together before making a fair evaluation. But....it might probably be the right move in the long run. Good luck Jackson St.
