And just how much money do it take to ask. Aint no yall. I just threw out a idea that didnt follow the pack mentality. Something most schools can't comprehend.

Russell didnt do squat for JSU. Just 2 plain unis. Home blue and white travel unis.

Big deal.
 
Many of yall making it like Russell just send the schools whatever Russell wants them to have. Lol. Just to show you how personalized the uniforms are on the schools request, JSU's uniforms are the same style JSU head coach wore in his playing days at JSU so they are definently customized.

It was that Denver bronco style but it did have a solid blue but I see other schools using there alternate as you said and we just do the same blue or white. A grey would be nice.

No one gets uniforms for free unless its a donation from alumni or boosters...Shoe companies doesnt give away free uniforms they give allotments for the athletic department...

For example a Oregon has Nike allotment/ budget of between 2-4 million dollars a year for their athletic department teams..So you can buy whatever you want in that allotment and anything extra is on the Athletic Department..

Russell allotment for SWAC programs is between 50- 100K per year and 100k from my sources is a big maybe so..So the uniforms JSU paid for last year came out the athletic budget not the Russell allotment...We could have saved money if we were too come up with a better design and just add one uniform to it every year that would give us multiple options but we dont have an AD and havent had one with sense to do that in a while..

So hopefully the SWAC presidents/ADs will negotiate better contracts for themselves that will allow them to have more money to work for than what HBCUs conference commissioners did back in 2004..

Thats the problem..too many old heads making decisions at JSU but until we get our funds in order to take over it is what it is..We also need an Athletic Director.

So, you're saying these other schools are footing the bill for all them unis??? I'd rather they tell me that if anyone here knows. What's the point in being obligated to a brand if you gotta pay for it. You're saying we get one set, and we pay for that one??? WTF???

I don't have a problem with our current uni. I just want to know if we been shorting ourselves by not getting more.
 
For example. Gram came to Jackson wearing red pants with a big black stripe.

They also wore red pants for the Bayou Classic. Those had two skinny yellow stripes with no black anywhere. So is Gram paying for that or did Russell provide them???

@Robber yes we still pay for the uniforms..Being obligated to a brand gives you financial allowance for apparel or uniforms from that brand..Pre-2004 alot of HBCUs didnt have that so thats why we are here. And what I would do if I were AD is we keep solid navy and solid white set for 2 seasons and add an alt uniform every 2 seasons...thats what other programs do like Grambling and Alcorn for example.

Russell provided all of those but they also had those in previous years so they just kept them in their closet..kinda like we are using 2009 jerseys for practice unis..Grambling uses their as game options which is good and gives their other unis longevity. We arent going to get the mega deals to look like the big FBS teams so might as well keep the old ones in use as well...Only big schools can throw away uniforms!

Yeah, I never saw any of that. It's a good idea though. Especially if JSU has ties to Magic.

Look, I don't be hating on another school just for GP like some people around here do. If the venture makes sense, go for it.
 
The issue really isn't Russell... The problem is the creativity of your coaches and equipment managers. Russell provides two basic designs as part of the SWAC contract. The variations are provided by the equipment managers. Alternative uniform can be bought from Russell. Most schools just don't get creative with the uniform choices.
