Shaq Roland No Longer at PV

Find the thread and call us all a lie. We were never worried about our offense. We were more concerned about who we picked up on defense.

Like I said he made a mistake going there. Any top flight Wr should think twice about the Gamecocks. Until Spurrier starts throwing the rock consistently with an able QB. Then any top WR is wasting their time signing there.
 
This child:
  • is a former Lexington High School football star (11-1 season, 2000+ yds, 24 TDs senior year)
  • Was considered a state top high school football player
  • Was named in Parade’s all-American
  • Was a 5-star recruit prospect (Scout.com)
  • Was named Mr. Football at South Carolina
  • Spent 3 seasons with South Carolina (1 year= 56 catches, 891 yds, 10 TDs; another year=26 catches, 356 yds)

Sounds like a player just about any coach would love to have as a starter; sounds like a dream for a lot of coaches; but yet Coach Simmons did this:

“Things didn’t go so well there,” said Petina Etheredge. She said the coach has already agreed that he will sign the waiver to release Roland.


Since no one ever saw him play, and since he spent six months in school at PVAMU, I admit I wonder what exactly happened for mom to say this:


Roland, who left the Gamecocks football team prior to the Independence Bowl in December, had planned to play his final collegiate season with the Panthers and spent six months in school in Prairie View, Texas, but he left in June, his mother said.

“Things didn’t go so well there,” said Petina Etheredge.



Maybe he didn't like it at PVAMU or he changed his mind. Maybe that was why he left.

Funny. Here in south carolina the complaint i hear is that Spurrier won't run the ball to protect his hapless qbs. He wants to throw every d9wn despite nfl talent at tail back.

Maybe the stadium was the issue (never thought of that), but if he's talented and wants to play football, a stadium shouldn't be a factor. Besides, the child spent 6 months at PVAMU; he knew about the stadium.

Well from watching Spurrier over the years, he loves to throw the football. So Going to SC out of high school wasn't the issue. I am sure there is a reason he left the program prior to the Independence Bowl. He will end up somewhere else and he probably was just not comfortable playing at PV.
 
He just made for a good headline, offense without that dude won't be an issue at PV. I'm more excited about some people that I know are there that are on the OTHER side of the ball, we not giving up 35 points a game this year

But his RBs are the ones shining and getting touches. NFL seems to like their rbs

Have you watched South Carolina? If they had a good QB. Spurrier might have won another title.
