Casey Therriault Biopic in the Works at Sony

Forest Whitaker as Rick Comegy or nah?

LOL. I think Kenan Thompson would be a good fit.

Damn near all of them. Michael Oher got a movie, but it had more to do with the white folks that adopted him.

There were biopics made about Jackie Robinson, Hurricane Carter, Ernie Davis, Gabby Douglas and Ali. There were documentaries about Randy Moss, Mike Vick (had a short-lived reality series on BET) Showtime just did a documentary about Allen Iverson. A biopic about Mike Tyson is in the works.

Name all the ones who have been ignored.

Cam Newton gets shytted on daily

Pac Man Jones. Completely ignored.

Nick Saban got crucified when he gave a domestic violence convict a 2nd chance to chase his dream.

Where is Michael Vick's "comeback" biopic?

I guess those guys just aren't white enough.

Those are just recent ones. Want more?

Did you just compare these world popular and iconic athletes with Casey Therriualt? Who few people outside of hbcu ball even heard of?

For the record I'm happy and proud of any project that makes the university look good. I hope this comes off. But Kendrick is a damn idiot.

You know, I was crafting a response to you calling me an idiot. And right in the middle of it, I thought if Casey were black, would his story be made into a biopic by a major film production company? And I said probably not.

You're, right. I'm an idiot in this case.

This story is not so much about the second chances athletes gets, it's about the chance given to a White athlete at a HBCU! There's a huge difference in this storyline. This is more about a culture within the black community that embraces everyone when the shit hits the fan, not so much elsewhere.
Because there are so many documented black athlete fuckups from major sports and universities, the story is old and as some of you would say "wash, rinse, repeat".

Well an hbcu gave a white athlete a second chance....why don't we hear about the black ones? They are at pwi's that turn their backs on athletes when they can't do anything for them. The end.
Everyone knows hbcu's are rehab central for broken athletes, not everyday a therriault situation occurs. Casey's situation was an anomaly

I am as well. If this comes to be, JSU will have their moment in the national spotlight so they have to take advantage of it (promotion, increase applications, boost in merch sales, etc.).

If we want more of our stories put out there, then we need to be hollering at Magic, Oprah, Tyler Perry, Diddy, etc. about backing them (or getting their connections to back them) because we know the game as is right now would put out a story like this instead of the black kid in the same position.
