I just hope to see a great game and the SWAC send their best officials to call this one (definitely not those jerks that were in Lorman this weekend). Hell those fools can't even see with instant replay.

Besides USM, what team has really challenged Alcorn? SU was missing players, Valley doesn't have the talent, and they played two teams that were D3 or NAIA. It seems like their schedule was just like TSU's.

Man, forget all this in-fighting in this forum. Let's talk about the game of the week in the SWAC. I know we will be making pics soon but what about this match up that may decide the true leader in the east. ASU vs ASU in Lorman, Ms. Let's talk about the SWAC game of the week like these SEC folks will talk about theirs.

I'm taking those ASU Braves since the game is in Lorman.

I got bama state. Defense wins championships but Hobson is the better coach. Bama in a close one. This is the swac championship game right here. I also have gram coming out of the west but it won't matter because the east teams will crush whoever makes it.

If Gram comes out of the West after that disastrous season last year, it will be a damn travesty.

I don't have Grambling coming out.. I think UAPB is better than them... BUT you never know. The last time GSU went AND WON.. they started the season at 1-4... so never say never.

Thats the same thing I was thinking. ..... plus Southern Miss is horrible.

PB already has two losses. It's going to be hard for them to go undefeated the rest of the way with Jones calling the offense.

Dont count Jones out.. in 2011, ASU and JSU were better than AAMU but he won the tie breaker.. also, I think Coleman made him agree to loosen up the offense a bit.

Folks put too much stock on beating a bad 1-A team. BCU beat one last year but turned around and lost to Norfolk. A&T beat App State last year an couldn't win the MEAC. Alcorn didn't even win... :smh:

Probably. Either them or Gram. I just think we are missing too many players. At this point, ill shoot for a winning season.

Look mane.. Alcorn does not know what they are doing. They don't know about competing for Championships... Ya'll gonna whoop them.

From what I see, Bama State defense can be exploited against the right team having given up 70 points in one game. In contrast Alcorn has proven they're fumble prone. Dunkel Index has Alcorn ranked @ 36 and Bama State @ 57 (which is an FCS only ranking). Sagarin has Bama State ahead of Alcorn at 192 and 203 respectively. All both ratings prove to me is no one really knows how to handicap this game. Alcorn has the home edge but Bama State has a ball control offense. I'm glad it is on a Thursday for everyone to see without interruption of multiple games. I still don't know how to call this one yet. My best guess is it will be a close one. This is going to be a game where the team that makes the fewer mistakes will probably win. I'm not sure that the talent level between the two teams is so overwhelmingly different that any one of the teams can overcome mistakes.

I think if Alcorn Can draw a crowd on Thursday, this will be a All around good night for the SWAC. But the Truth is, not to many people coming to the Reservation on a Thursday Night.
