I see there are a lot of uninformed posters on this board who have no clue about the business of college athletics or basic business for that matter. It’s also sad you guys take great pride in being the FCS attendance leaders, but feel no way about being last in football and basketball. In the last 10 games JSU is 2-8 vs. TnSU and a Casey Therriault away from being 0-10. Yet seems as long as JSU has more fans then us they are cool with losing every year on the field. This year will be no different. You guys will beat us in attendance but get your ass kicked on the field.
LOOK WE ARE NOT THE SEC OR BIG TEN. Footballs barely pays its own bills, yet alone carry the entire athletic budget. In the SEC and Big Ten. Yes. MEAC, SWAC, OVC, or any other FCS school. Hell no.
How can a SWAC or HBCU fan read this thread and not be embarrassed by what some posters are saying. We have Bama A&M posters saying how TnSU needs the swac but their ticket sales were nearly half of ours. Instead of worrying about TnSU he needs to look in the mirror and see WTF is going wrong at AAMU.
U are already in the SWAC and still don't have any fans.
We are talking about a 9 year period were TnSU averaged $785,209 in ticket sales. Not even a million. We don’t have a bigger fan base then JSU who averaged $1,124,471 so at best I see an increase of maybe 150K in ticket sales if TnSU were to join the SWAC. I personally don’t want our student athletes (volleyball, softball, track, basketball, golf, and tennis) having to take bus ride to Louisiana and Texas for increased football revenue by 150K.
Please, Please, Please, Please stop comparing HBCU’s to the SEC. Someone mentioned TAMU leaving the Big 12 for the SEC. That was a great move for them. It allowed them to get from under UT’s shadow, and from the TV deal alone they are set to make tons of cash. Ohio State will make what FAMU made (#1 in HBCU football revenue) over that 9 year period in one season from student tickets.
On the real you crab in the barrel ****** need to wake up. Please wake up.
