Everything of biblical proportions. ---From the Gov. of Louisiana, D. Sharp, GSU football team, the Miss. legislature and the rest of the SWAC along with Comegy and Bell and also the 1st lady don't want to give yall none. :shame: Somebody is trying to tell JSU to move to the Caucasian Mountains. JSU, those are strong hints. If I was you, I'd get the U-Haul.

We need to position ourselves to leave.

We are doing just that and once we do, the SWAC will be history. No other school wants to enter this bottom-feeder conference any how. It has consistently been one of the worse run conferences in the country.

I can see if JSU was just dominating the SWAC, always talking about leaving but can't even dominate a weak conference. Yall heads are so above the clouds and for what reason?:)

It is clear some of you are speaking out of hate for JSU or pour ignorance!!!! If you support GSU actions of violating a binding contract and feel JSU is being petty, then the next someone doesn't fulfill a commitment for services; to any degree! made to you or your family, then I'm sure you will carry this understanding and forgiving spirit forward and not seek any form of civil remedy. Surely you will not expose yourself as a hypocrite to the entire board in your response to my post. Because to say anything less than "sure I will be understanding and not hold the contract as binding" will expose your hate and hypocrisy. Either of those two or; your as I stated earlier, your ignorant to the purpose of why people sign contracts.

The message lost is to the GSU players. I would hope we wouldn't want those GSU players to think they addressed their concerns in the proper manner. I agree they had legitimate concerns. Hell if any of my sons were on that team I would be concerned also. But as a man and a responsible man, I would have made my son get his butt on that bus and play the game and then deal with GSU administration. JSU did nothing to those players!!! In the GSU response that clown said we are a family in the SWAC!! Well I hate know that's how his family treat one another by inflicting damage and walking away with an oh well attitude. Oh I stand corrected, we are a "black" conference with tolerance for ghetto antics as long as it isn't amid at my institution. And we wonder what's wrong with our youth today?? To find the answer to that question all some of you have to do is look in the mirror or read your own post.

I speak not just as a JSU Alum but more so as a HBCU college professor who sees every year the decline in academic readiness and personal pride in each freshman class. And it's not just at JSU because I have transfers fro all SWAC schools. Now someone will respond and say I'm too serious about this and it's only smack. To you I say reading is fundamental because this isn't the SMACK board!!!! And as a 26 year law enforcement professional I recognize when someone is hiding truth inside a statement.

Remember, next time you don't get your monies worth just shut up!

Has nothing to do with dominating anything. It has to do with how sorry this conference is being run and how there's no progress being made by any school that's been in the SWAC over the last 15 years.

I could more easily say the same in JSU's favor. Grambling brought it's mess to JSU and involved us when we had nothing to do with your school's internal problems.
You should take your medicine like any man should.
Heck, even those same players who defied the school's President didn't seem to care about the repercussions it would bring on the school. That's not JSU's fault.

Lol. Thanks for informing me that you aren't too familiar with the legal system. I won't post my counter shot for Grambling on this board. But just know this situation is too easy for Grambling to get out of if school officials had a good lawyer. The NCAA knows this as well and won't touch Grambling in this case. There is a reason for them leaving it alone and listing the as a "no contest" in their official book. Anyway, carry on with your quest for more media attention and "we are the real victims here" posters. The show will end soon and we both can go back to our normal 40-21-1 (1 no contest) lives.

You do know there are SEVERAL lawyers on this site, right? One of them is JSU/99.

It would appear to be either apathy on the part of Grambling's Administration or of a lack of Institutional Control over their Player's and Supporters (in this case Doug). So how could the NCAA consider this a nonissue? They just don't want to dip their hands into this mess that's all! Also, this is not about Grambling per say, in fact before this fiasco I had all the regard and respect for them over the years. This is about HBCU survival which is spelled M O N E Y! We all have to balance the books and pay the bills. So this act on the part of Grambling's players hit at the core of what we all should be concerned about.
They could have easily boycotted their own Homecoming and would have engendered the respect and attention of everyone outside of the GSU community.

what pisses me off is that almost 6 months after the boycott, we still don't have a resolution to this situation. the SWAC should've taken both schools financial situation into account, and gave Grambling a loan of 600k, to be given to JSU, and it would be paid back via conference payouts

Well said, sir. All of us know that the SWAC office leadership has oppressed our school's athletic department for years. It appears that JSU & SU are the only schools in our conference who fights for their rights and I must commend them on doing so. Like Napolean Bonapart said, "He Who Allows Oppression Shares The Crime".

It would be great if all 10 schools come together and run Duer Sharp out and it will send a message for the next swac commissioner to always stay fair.

You really think the conference has 600k to loan Grambling?

If there is litigation between Grambling and JSU, why did the SWAC even schedule a football game between the two schools this year?

If the SWAC don't have at least 2 million in reserves, this conference really is in trouble, but this situation really should've been handled a long time ago. The SWAC should've taken the lead and came to a resolution to help JSU immediately

Sharp could've taken a hard line and kept the game from being canceled to begin with.

Wow, thought all of this had been settled.........Who ever want to leave though, I wish they would hurry up and do so.........Don't talk about it, be about it......

How?

He couldn't have made them play.

If he'd threatened to cancel the rest of their season including the Bayou Classic, or even if he threatened to fine them the Bayou Classic payout, those players would've shown up. Grambling would've seen to that.

I know them East teams will be very happy lol

Yeah, we probably need to let two schools in the East be on their merry way and add two stronger programs to make the SCG stronger. The West has traditionally destroyed their representatives.
