According to WSFA News, Valley expects to name Comegy as next HC

It ain't about running with the players. It is about relating to them. You and TP are the only ones defending the hire. No smack. I want JSU to be good. I did not enjoy the Bell years. I just think this is a bad hire. Comegy has not taken off any time from coaching college kids. He was in tune with the young folks. Harold going to need a young innovative staff for it to work.

So Hughes didn't want to be there. What about John Shannon? Wasn't he on the final list?

You do realize Stump Mitchell came from the NFL and now he's back in the NFL.

I thought Comegy was coach Bookman who couldn't coach.
All he knew how to do was try to out-talent teams.
He didn't know how to coach up players (recruit freshmen and build them up)
Basically he recruited dumb thugs.

Now he's such a great hire for "valley".

Hold up! Until Comegy starts winning consistently, Archie "The Gunslinger" Cooley is Valley's Best Coach in their history. This will be interesting for Valley. This is a good move. Makes the East a bit more competitive.

I'm happy for Coach Comegy and MVSU. Comegy is a solid coach and will do a lot to energize the MVSU community, elevate the program in general and lay the ground work for a winning culture. This is easily the best coach in their history. Make no mistake about it, Comegy still has a lot of fire in him (probably more now lol). He'll get in some athletes to help them to be more successful right away, but the biggest payoff for Valley will be a new attitude and energy around football in the delta. Great hire.[/QUOTE]

Valley is about to be #2 in the EAST.

Valley can't beat JSU so our spot is safe at #1.
AlaState can't beat Comegy and Comegy owns AlaState.
AAMU might split a few with Valley cause Comegy owns them too.
Alcorn is gonna lose to Valley. They barely beat Valley this year AT HOME. Now with Comegy, their daddy, coaching at Valley, it's over. Also, Alcorn only wants to beat JSU and SU so they bout to lose to AlaState, AAMU and Valley. Alcorn might be last in the EAST this year.
..and SU, you in trouble too. Ya'll were just a step above Valley anyway. Now with Comegy at the helm, it's bout to be on!

Landing Comegy is a steal. I was a fan of him when he was at Tuskegee. Comegy is a proven winner and Valley will compete.
