DE Javancy Jones (SWAC Freshman of the Year) leaving Jackson State





I don't blame the kid for leaving a loser school like JSU. By all means, get out of town on the first thing smoking.

However, I think somebody is giving this kid bad advice if he thinks he's going to play DE for a SEC school at 6' 2" 230. They have linebackers bigger than that. He might end up going to a school like ULM or Tennessee-Martin. Something like that. But, I don't see him going to the SEC unless he can play LB.
 
The defensive end initially planned on transferring since joining the program but had second thoughts as the season progressed. But the firing of Rick Comegy as head coach and the football coaching staff made his decision to leave a no brainer, Jones said

Comegy leaving put the icing on the cake however it seems as if he never wanted to be at JSU. You wanted to transfer since your first days joining the program. Hmmmmmmm

He was recruited as a LB

We have a hard time keeping a lot of our kids especially if they are from MS. Hughes used to recruit a lot of great kids but the JUCO coaches would convince them to skip JSU, go JUCO and land at a bigger school. Remember Rico even left school for a week during his freshman pre-season camp. The JUCO coaches are relentless in MS.

No one said he was going to the SEC. To these kids, 1-A ball is 1-A ball. We lose kids to USM even tho they suck right now just because they are 1-A.

Yeah I hear his family is locked in to JSU. Plus the other kid from Terry is there as well. I look for big things from him. I think you guys used him on special teams a lot this past year.

The point is what's the purpose of leaving JSU if you're going to play at a school like ULM, Tennessee-Martin or even USM these days. They are just as obscure as JSU.

If you can't play at the highest level, what advantage is there to transferring?

She would be just as attractive to me with her own hair. More so.

It's sad that black men and women think a black woman's natural appearance is not good enough. :smh:
 
I've been saying that...ULM, Tech, New Mexico State, etc. are no better than FCS schools but they have FBS status and these days, this instant generation of kids think that means something

go to a Sun Belt game and tell me what's so unique about it?

That's what hurts us in recruiting as we can offer a kid early, everything...New Mexico State gets dumped by a kid to a CUSa school and the next available is the late blooming kid who had a strong senior year that they did not offer initially...that may be the kids lone FBS offer and that just screws up your recruiting board

Recruiting locally is a big issue for the current administration. How will the new coach overcome this problem?
