you guys can condemn these kids all you want. This mess has been mucked up since the beginning. If its true that the administration did not talk to these kids about the situation until Tuesday then I don't blame them. I will applaud these young men for coming together and standing for what they believe in. One thing is for sure, they definitely have the attention of the University now.

Are they not going to play next week as well? Where is the GSU Alumni in all of this? How come the GSU Alumni President has not made a statement on this situation. This is not looking good for GSU but it is not looking good for the SWAC as well.

I guess they should forfeit the entire season if they pull this stunt because it would look really bad if they decide after this weekend to play the next game. These young people just don't think rationale anymore.

@TheGramblinite: RT @JLCarter_Sr: If GSU forfeits this game against Jackson State, it would be a major moment in college sports, big win for athlete advocacy

We down them all the time for not being political enough as compared to their contemporaries during the CRE but now that they do we still condemn them... smh

I am not condemning for what they believe. However, there is a place and time for everything. Right now this is not the right time to boycott.

@TheGramblinite: REPORTS: A walk-through was scheduled in preparation for the JSTATE game - no players attended.

I have no problems with what the players did. Just have to be prepared to live with the consequences.

@Playmaker_85: Don't never doubt our will to go out and play because it's killing us not to be out there but it's bigger than us. Gotta stand for something

Those of you holding on to the "just joking, they coming or "I'll believe it when I see it". Just got a text from one of the starting linebackers. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO JACKSON!!!

Young kids today are so weak. man we had it real bad back in the 80's and early 90's, but no one would have quit like this. Weak, spoiled kids.

I know from experience they also can’t take a lot of pressure either.

I understand the 1st or maybe the 2nd string players not wanting to play in some form of a protest. Some of these kids that have been coddled most of their lives because of their athletic ability and are used to getting away with a lot. But I can’t see the 3rd or 4th guy up who might not have a scholarship and can be EASLY replaced passing up a chance to play. Back in the day, those players that never see the field would want to play bad enough to pay their own way to Jackson and could give a damn if you gave them some food or not.

I guess these kids are different these days. . .

I cannot believe this foolishness. Did we all take a dysfunction pill at the same time? Players this is very self-destructive behavior. I do feel for both the Grambling legacy and JSU homecoming situation. I just can't imagine the frustration of those people, but honestly I can't fault the players either, nobody properly tended their frustrations either. I really hate what's transpiring right now.

If kids are willing to lose their scholarships for something they believe in, that is not necessarily a bad thing. This might be the beginning of a national player uprising.

one thing alot of yall say is how different the kids are these days but aren't their parents part of yalls peer group....

what was really going on in the late 80s and early mid 90s when yall was raising these kids?
