Oh, he basically called the FAMU AD a liar for saying that SU had not contacted him about their (FAMU's) football coach.:emlaugh:
What the hell are you talking about?

True. But I also think we have some ADs with no balls or don't know how to prepare a serious power point presentation showing a ROI (Return On Investment) to their respective Presidents/Chancellors etc on why the 9 game mandate is not financially healthy for us as well as not giving us the proper exposure OOC, which impedes us competing for the best student athletes out there. They would have to show the benefits of moving to a 7 or 8 game mandate and why staying this way is causing our programs to lose money. Most of our ADs don't have that type of experience. Never been business leaders or understand how stuff works in the world of making money and branding your product. Broussard is a breath of fresh air for SU, because unlike a lot of these ADs, they don't seek to know how the real world is or be progressive. If they were, a lot of them would leave for better opportunities to work for people who understand or share their vision. Most are just glad to be there with no further aspirations to do anything but be someone's puppet and go along with the status quo. Not all of them. But a lot of them. I also think these Presidents and Chancellors would listen if the pitch is precise, straight to the point, a plan already developed going into the presentation and what that ROI I was talking about is going to be. They want to hear how this can also enhance enrollments with more exposure, marketing each University's brand name by getting a chance to play more teams OOC etc. Most of all, they will ask the ADs to show them the money.
If some AD or ADs can develop a knock out plan of action to present to our school leaders. I think they would then tell ole Duer to change that 9 game mandate. We know he ain't going to say anything or develop any type of presentation or do any research on the benefits of a 8 game or 7 game SWAC schedule. He pretty much said so when Kenn asked him. Unless the Presidents say something to him. It ain't even on his radar screen. Which is sad.
Other than not agreeing to the nine game mandate, not much of anything. He talks a good game, but time will tell if he can back up what he says and bring SU sports where it was ten years ago.

Wait one got dang minute! When did FAMU get in the picture? Hell I'm in Baton Rouge and totally missed this one. So the FAMU head coach is one of the two candidates that were not named? I thought FAMU's HC was in the hot seat. What is Broussard thinking?

it is obvious Jayrob was referring to the BCC AD. You know this..
LOL. You didn't get the memo. FAMU called Jayrob and told him that Joe Taylor was not retired but yet he is available and that SU didn't contact them about talking to Taylor since they are obviously in the playoffs this year and still playing. ~snicker~
I guess po Jayrob didn't know FAMU is having their own coaching search.

Naw he said FAMU.... twice at that!! poor lil tink tink
Not twice huh???
:lmao:
He never researches anything. Basically, he feels the wind blowing in certain directions and starts talking. He said what he meant more than once. :emlaugh:
Now you know if any of us had done that. Jayrob would have had a field day. I just find it amusing that he and some others want to discredit our AD so badly without even knowing him or seeing the progress dude has made since coming on board. The BCU AD is at a lost for words because they only pay Jenkins 90-100K and folks done found out. LOL. He knows they can't match not only an offer from SU. But if any SWAC school wanted dude. He probably could be had. So he is in a panic mode.

I have always said that we need to get away from the ex coach and educators being our Ads, Our Schools need CEO type people to lead us into the future especailly with all the budget cuts. I talked to one of my old teachers one day, in she was talking about how back in the day, Coaches where promoted to principle not because of the knowledge but because people felt like they had the respect of the people because they are "Coach".. We still using this practice with our AD and president hires. Today we have Vp of everythins and assistant AD of that.. we need great mangers that will be able to tie everyone together for a effective university
I meant BC. Carry on though.
The smart folks knew who I was referring to.

Exactly. I keep wondering how people from a certain school feel that their athletic program is the bar when it comes to the FCS..... When SU AD made the statement about the 9 game mandate, every AD in the SWAC should have called him, thanked him, and got together determine a strategic manner to change it. Hell that was enough for me.
Exactly. They should have gotten together and figured out a pitch/presentation to their President/Chancellor. I will bet you money Broussard is going to do that wit Dr. Llorens at SU. Those two seem to have a good relationship.
I am sure JSU's AD since she was hand picked by their current President could do the same and get her to agree that the 9 game mandate is no good.
I wonder if the Presidents look at the current OOC schedules and ask themselves if the ADs have the capability of scheduling additional games?
