Actually the hood of LA is trying to make a turn around. It is them Mexicans who are doing the dirt out there now.

Well using this logic. Serena saw that dance when she was young growing up in Compton and it inspired her to eventually become an Olympic gold medalist. Gotta love the crip walk! :tup:
 



Man, ya'll should be clowning Usain Bolt for that half hearted attempt at the Dougie after winning the 100 meters.

From what people I know have told me and from what I saw, a LOT of Black folks moved further inland to new developments to escape the violence and many of the hoods were taken over by Hispanics. They are doing hella dirt. Also that caught a lot of Black folks up in the sub prime mess and real estate devaluation on those new mortgages. And the gang stuff went with us out to the new areas. I would never want to live in LA, but I find it fascinating. Very beautiful place. You can go from the beach, to the mountains to the desert all in under two hours, depending on traffic.

That would be using no logic, but I understand and reasonable people can disagree. I feel the Black culture is rich and we have given so much to the world, we dont need to export the vestiges of the worst part of our people.

My son was like....he needs to go to the Boys and Girls club to learn how to Dougie.....and get a proper taper.... or a bush. In regards to Serena she wasn't stacking when she was c-walking...no harm,no foul.
 
I've never seen a Blood, Crip, Gangster Disciple or any other known gang member...and neither has the kids around here...just don't have the gangs in the country. :lol: BUT I have seen this dance...didn't know the name until yesterday. It had no significance for me before...still doesn't now.

Usain Bolt wins the 100 meter sprint to solidify himself as the fastest man in the world, and you guys choose to focus on his thinning, receding hair and bad post race dancing. How dare you exhibit self-hatred!
 
He coulda brushed his hair (and the shot putter too!)...had nothing to do with his/their performance.(I think Bolt was playing possum in those trials) Gabby/Bolt is apples and oranges IMO. Back on topic. Awesome job Serena!!!

It's not just a dance, it was a dance that was created by crips to represent gang banging and she's from Compton so she knows exactly what it represents. 1. So you saying Usain Bolt was doing the Ali rope-a-dope prior to the Olympics? LOL

2. I actually think the Gabby/Bolt comparison is fair because we're always are talking about folks appearance. Always. From NBA games to award shows to random photos of Willow Smith in the mall with her friends. There were peeps on Twitter making comments about Sanya Richards-Ross' weave after her 400 meter race and Ryan Bailey's neck tattoo during the 100 meters. I think too many people got sanctimonious about the whole thing. But that's just me, though.
 



This is sad. :shame: The woman wins a gold medal and does a dance...everyone smiles...and some black folks shoot her down....the way of the world.

Its not just any dance. Also, I think a lot of people of were upset because she done it at the Olympics which happens to be held at Wimbledon.

I'm sure Serena was thinking more about the after-parties in London more than busting drive by caps on spectators.

Black people will make controversy out of anything.
She bust a dance move.............. No more or less than I see people do everyday. White NERDs can do that dance now. It is damm near "generic" as far as it being a "crip thang" these days.

As far as this being held at WIMBLEDON, big deal. THIS WAS THE OLYMPICS..........NOT WIMBLEDON. No all white uniforms, fans were allowed to make noise and cheer, and the players are allowed to let emotions all hang out. There are no invites to the All-England Club for these Olympic medal winners. :smh:
